I think if CJ keeps up what he's doing and Nurk starts to show that he's able to play like he did in the bubble, then we could get Harden for those two and three firsts. At that point we would have to figure out how to get a 5 that can play defense. That being said, I don't think we have the number of picks that make up for the gap between CJ/Nurk and Harden/Wood.
This is what I have taken away from it as well. He's still being all swaggery and too cool for school and he's blowing ass at the same time. He needs to be humbled I think.
Nurk struggling, and Kanter destroying our defense. If only we had a young mobile big like Harry Giles, oh wait.
They are going to have to move Harden. If they want CJ and Nurkic, we need a big in return. Throw in a #1 and add Simons or Hood - but let’s get Wood! Oh, they can throw in Harden.
At this rate Wood is better than Nurk. He is one year younger and is signed for 4 years compared to Nurk's 2 more. Wood is more valuable for the Rockets. Yes of course they have to move Harden eventually, but your proposal is not realistic at all. I can say just trade CJ for Harden, but I don't because there is no point in doing so. Btw Simons, Hood are negatives, not assets and we don't even have our #1 of 2021 which takes us out of the race automatically.
i dunno wtf is wrong with him but im sick to death of him n his lazy ass attitude plodding up n down the court doing fuck all of any use. PLAY GILES ALREADY, STOTTS.
It really sucks not having Zach Collins. I think it'd be much easier to bench Nurk for him than it would Giles. Giles is a one year rental, whereas we're committed to Nurk in the long term (or at least until a trade). If you do something that really pisses Nurk off, well, look at how that went in Denver. Collins could just play him off the floor and I don't think it'd be nearly as disruptive to team chemistry. A healthy Zach erases about 28 minutes of bad defense from Nurk, Melo and Kanter. That would be huge for this team.
I hadn't considered that. Grief affects everyone differently. He does seem less lively and just less into it.
i really dont understand this obsession with harry giles, as if he wasnt let go by sacramento, meaning they gave up on him of course, that doesnt mean he cant succeed in the future, but it certainly raises questions about him and you simply cant expect terry stotts to bench nurk for giles, even what stotts did against gsw is risky, he benched nurk for kanter and i commend stotts for that and i hope he does it again if nurk plays bad, but if you give some of the nurks minutes to giles, well, that might cause some trouble if nurk continues to play bad in the next few games, you bench him for kanter, meaning give kanter some of his minutes and let him finish the game and if nurk doesnt get the message, then you start kanter for a few games and see how nurk reacts... if he reacts like he should, you bring him back in the starting line-up but i think he wont start kanter instead of nurk (it didnt worked in denver even if jokic is better than nurk)... i think they will be patient with nurk, as they cant afford to piss him off
I noticed the change immediately after her passing, and to me it seems much worse now. It's that apathetic indifference that truly serious depression can do to someone. He just doesn't seem to have the fire that he used to have. It was that fire that made him so much fun to watch. Can you imagine Sheed without his fire?
I don't think you can bench Nurk, you have to let him play his way out of this. If you bench him, history shows, it will completely ruin him. If you think he's going to be like this a lot of the time, you get him playing his best and then you trade him selling high. If you bench him now his trade value is garbage and he's shown he can become toxic (I don't know if he's still like that but he could be).
This is why I think he'll find his way out of it. Being at home where I'm sure there were constant reminders of her passing couldn't have helped in the short term or maybe being away from home right now is hurting him too. Either way, time will help him. This won't break him. We'll see him get better.
Nurk will be fine....the whole team will....it's a weird season for every team and all the players. Playing in empty arenas does affect the product we are used to seeing. Nurk's damned leg fell off and he's getting back to game shape...he spent a year learning to walk again....cut him some damned slack! Giles hasn't earned the right to bump Nurk or Enes yet....and he's been unable to stay on the court since drafted....hopefully he'll become part of our next generation but in win now time....I'm sticking with Nurk and Kanter and using Giles as insurance for foul trouble. Letting him develop some chemistry with the team....Roco and Jones are still trying to mesh with the team....work in progress...we've play 6 games...4 on the road...we're 500...we've had worse starts with players who were used to each other before
This doesn't make any sense though. He played just a few months ago and looked amazing. He was on fire in the bubble. You can't say this has anything to do with his rehab when he already came back from his injury and played well.
yes I can....the bubble he was working with guys he knew...he's playing with two new starters and his grandmother just died while he was in that bubble...he just gave a home to a destatute family in Bosnia and returned late for camp and with covid restrictions....no team meetings, etc on the road...in the bubble they had team meetings...this season is just weird....these guys are risking alot to even play sports during this pandemic....cut em some slack....20 games from now if Nurk isn't hoisting double doubles and winning I'll have questions..right now I have no questions ...just grateful for hoops during the lockdowns...cheer for these guys...there's alot to complain about on the planet and the Blazers just aren't one of those things in my view.
None of that has to do with his injury. You just listed everything other than what I responded to you about.
I've already addressed his injury....he went through a long rehab...he even said he was playing on fumes in the bubble......cut him some slack...my view is....cut the whole league some slack...the could easily be shut down right now.....I sure wouldn't want to go on the road to California right now and if I did I wouldn't be comfortable being in contact with that many people.....this year has been mentally tasking for eveyone....Nurk is no exception
I didn't dispute any of that. I have been saying he's depressed for a while now. I'm just saying you can't use his injury as an excuse anymore.
