Dead at 89. Didn’t see a thread so I started one. He was such a terrific coach at Temple. I can’t figure out his zone defenses.

Haha he was a nut. Kind of the Woody Hayes/Bobby Knight of college hoops. He had some fun teams back in the day with Aaron McKie, Mark Macon and Eddie Jones

I loved watching him on the sidelines. He would walk around so animated. Shrugging and throwing his hands up. If it was at his players or the refs, it didn't really matter. He was fantastic, even if his coaching style brought games to a grinding halt. One of the best ever to do it.

He was a huge favorite in the area. He always had that ability to make his players do more than the opponent. I also like Coach Pete Carrill from Princeton. Got to meet Pete . Class guy.

Mark Macon and Chris Jackson (Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf) were two of my favorite college players to watch from the late 80s-early ‘90s.
