Well there's 10 guys on here that when we lose it's Stott's fault, and when we win it's in spite of Stott's.

There are tons of Warriors fans who go ape shit on Kerr whenever Steph has an off night because he wasnt put in a better position to be successful, and of course, they also think he sucks because he just has Steph to bail him out because he is so great. I suppose both could be true, but when Steph goes bananas, you dont hear about the coaches setting him up for that, so its a lose-lose for coaches.

Look, I've said before that coaches get WAY too much credit and WAY too much blame. I'm very big on having the credit and blame fall on the shoulders of the players at this level. Sure a new coach can come in a fire his team up for a few weeks/month, but ultimately it's on the players. I will say there are a special group of NBA coaches that I'm sure made a difference over a long haul, but at the end of the night, the level of talent thrown on the court is ultimately the deciding factor in my opinion.

That's true to an extent, but how can you not acknowledge that our offense (when healthy) is basically "here Dame and CJ, take this ball and go make something happen"

Ok, so if you acknowledge that as a fact, and the coach is in charge of our offense, why is it not his fault when that offense gets completely shut down year after year in the playoffs? If it's not his fault, who's fault is it?

29 teams a year have their offense shut down in the playoffs. It's what happens. Players miss shots. What about the games in the playoffs when the O is clicking? Does the coach get credit? People on here direct their frustration to one source......it doesn't work that way. Many factors in failure and success in this game.

29 teams don't stick with the same coach for 9 years and run the same offense that gets repeatedly shut down in the same manner every single year.

Watching last nights game and Kevin Harlen just gave Stotts credit for keeping things together even the roster have been completely decimated by injuries. there are some damn good coaches sitting under us in the standings, right? Pop, Kerr, Monty.....and if I'm not mistaken, those 3 teams have been pretty much at full strength.
    Maybe he’s got a point.

29 teams a year fail to complete their mission regardless. At the end of the year the brass and fans can decide where to lay the blame. I can think of a few Coach of the Year winners who got canned the fucking next season. So even the people voting for who the best coaches are don't have a fucking clue who is good or not. It's a crapshoot. Remember when Luke Walton was heading to the coaching HOF?

The team wasn't playing well when it was healthy. That argument doesn't hold water, but it's the same excuse every year.

Is there a possibility they hadn't built up chemistry yet? Was is the right mix of players. There are many factors like I said. Could it be he wasn't coaching them right, sure........BUT YOU HAVE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PLAYERS BARE SOME OF THE WEIGHT IN THIS.

Totally agree with @THE HCP last few posts. This is my take as well. And for the umpteenth time, if they fire him that’s fine with me. But he’s not some dogshit coach.

where would you rank terry among his peers, as per the poll question? if he's anything below top 5, he absolutely becomes replaceable. The only coaches who have been at their current jobs for a longer tenure are: Pop, Spo, Carlisle. Do you put Terry even CLOSE to those guys? the way you and others defend him is as if he's some genius who is gonna lead us to the promise land.

he has some strengths, but some very OBVIOUS flaws he has shown over his time here. i feel like some of you choose to pull wool over your eyes. For what purpose... i still have no idea. The guy has zero creativity on either end of the floor. You want him in charge of Dame's entire career and prime? We need to go all out to land the best players and coaches to maximize Dame's window NOW. Just because terry cna coach a team to the middle of the pack in the playoffs doesn't make him immune.

obviously they do, but multiple teams this year have installed new coaches without replacing rosters and have had noticeable bumps in play from the start.

Looking at the standings.....are you telling me Tyrone GOD DAMN Lue is a better coach than Stotts? I mean REALLY? You put Stotts on the Clippers bench and they would still be succeeding. And the funny thing, they would still be a pretty good defensive team. And guess what, neither of those outcomes would be BECAUSE off him. Ty Lue on our bench and we would still be one of the worse defensive teams in the league. See how that works?

That's a pretty low bar for a coach you are entrusting with the prime career of your franchise's best player ever.
