There are people who only blame Stotts... you are not one of them though.

Carlesimo was a motormouth jerk hated by many of his players like Rod Strickland, screaming elementary fundamentals that are more relativistic among experienced players. I watched the narcissist in interviews, unable to shut up. Sprewell was the one who wouldn't take it.

    Saying this for years
Reading all this stuff about players' coaches reminds me of a women's college coach I crossed paths with decades ago.

Just big control freak. One of her players quit the team almost immediately because she was given a hard time for dating a player on the men's team.

She didn't just do it with players either. She was just nasty with anyone she thought had to put up with her. I finally told her off. Heard around the athletic offices it caused her to go into a frantic tizzy and was the source of much amusement. But it was a weird attitude for a small DI basketball coach, albeit a gifted one. Very Bobby Knight like but without nearly his cache.

Guys who worked with me razzed me about her. She parlayed her small college success into the head job at Washington State. Couple of years in, I guess the team mutinied on her. The players confirmed all the stuff I'd said.

Anyway, she got the boot and I don't think she got another coaching job again. Last I heard she was living in Colorado working in gardening.

Imagine the nonstop Bill Walton, but instead of saying nice thoughts about glowing galaxies, he's screaming at you for all eternity to shape up to the Seton Hall freshman level.

Then sir, that is where we differ. @THE HCP could give a fuck about where we "rank" anywhere in any category. I'll take dead last in defense and being .571% in the west than a top 10 defensive team and .455% in the east.

Once again, I'm pushing back on people simply putting all the blame on Stotts is all.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Does HCP care if Stotts was fired? I haven't gotten that impression.

And yeah, we disagree on what "neutral" means. You seem to think it means "not interested in discussing it." I think it means "not strongly wedded to either side of the issue." I think HCP is neutral by my conception of the word--I don't think he's strongly on the pro- or anti-Stotts side. I'm in the same boat--it doesn't much matter to me if Stotts remains coach, but I still see takes I disagree with.

The only think I wouldn't like about Stotts getting fired is a friend of my is out of a job. I was close with Monty Williams and Canales, Billy Bano and more, but I would understand it's a business.

Terry would get another job. Even if not a head coaching job, definitely as an assistant. I'm not worried about him at all.

This doesn't sound like a good stat. Yet they beat the Beavers this year, who are now playing well.

If I take out some of the words, the tweet reads:

Portland, parted ways, head, NBA coach, Terry.

Can't the Blazers find a job for him? Hersey Hawkins was a great shooter and has shagged balls in our practices for years. Could Terry Porter wash the towels or something in the locker room?
