Please tell me you do not energize your outlets with tele comm wire. I think the plumbing trap configuration is from another country. Tuesday, I failed a guy's house that he is building because he used hilti screws to attach pressure treated sill plates to the foundation slab, instead of anchor straps as illustrated on the plans. On the nail box, I requested, the illustration was for metal studs you would typically use for a business fit out. I gave him the alternative to insert large 7/8 lag bolts suited for sill foundation bolts. Yes, the excitement is unreal.

Actually, the current house does not have a basement. But those photos could have come from our first house. It had been a rental and the upkeep and repairs were nowhere near code. My efforts at maintenance were on a similar level, skill wise. Thankfully, 40+ years later I can pretty much afford to have that shit done by someone who knows what they’re doing.......

1959 thru 1968 truly were the glory years. I also loved the '57 and '58 Buicks.

I wasn't old enough to drive in '72. My first vehicle (in '73) was a '62 Volkswagen Bug I purchased from my father. The next year, I purchased a '72 Chevy Vega. Loved that car. My first brand new car was a '78 Volkswagen Rabbit. Great little car all the way around.

My wife’s first car was a ‘72 Vega GT. she drove it all through college. But in general it was a POS. During her college days it died died right in the middle of the drive through Redwood tree in CA. Pissed off a lot of other tourists. We got married during spring break of her senior year.......and several months later, after an evening of shopping for a couch, the engine caught fire while the car was sitting in our driveway. We happily waved goodbye as it was towed off.......we’ve never owned a GM product since.

I do get that as they had aluminum blocks that sometimes would/could warp.

You've always had kind of a warped personality.

My dad had two brand new '62 VW beetles.
The European version of the Rabbit was the Golf and was supposedly better.
