Randle has shown that he is no role player. If needs be I'm sure the Knicks would send over another asset, maybe the Dallas pick and Payton but the cold hard truth is that the Wolves need to make changes because they have the worst record in the league and KAT needs a change of scenery and team culture. I do realize that they've played all but 7 games without KAT but still.
Randle has one season where he's been a true positive, and that's this year. You'd have to really love him to value him as a star as he's being done here. He's being traded for the best shooting center in NBA history, at age 25, with 4 years left on his deal. No one in their right mind would consider this deal.
This is so wrong on multiple levels. First it may be an anonymous forum FOR YOU, but you are not everyone here. Second, people hold others’ words against them for years around here. You must be in some different forum. Because there are some people here who do nothing EXCEPT look for ways to show people they were wrong in what they said. (Just like this post. Lol)
100% agree. Also one of the reasons i find it hilariously ridiculous that many here are unable to admit when wrong no matter the topic of discussion, based on my experience here.
Good news: I have a greater respect for all of you! I've just surfed the web for trade rumors, and it's a lot of made up shit by people who are completely clueless. Much of the 'analysis' completely ignores the salary cap. For example, one (BR-lol) has us trading RoCo to Boston for Aaron Nesmith and a 1st. I'm pretty sure Neil wouldn't do AN and 3 1sts for RoCo. And, that was one of the more realistic trade proposals. Some of the sites didn't even say what should be given up in a trade. They also included franchise cornerstones in trades who were not on the block, which would almost never happen. Of course, I did see plenty of ads mixed in with the 'articles', so that should have been a clue...
I have never seen a trade idea get posted without someone or multiple someones saying it wouldn't happen. And yet........ a lot of trades happen where I'm left thinking "what an awful trade for that team." So if horrible trades happen, why is it that we as fans immediately think "that's impossible." The James Harden to Houston trade was a joke. Completely horrible and I can guarantee that if you posted that trade idea in their forum before it happened, people would have laughed at you.
I don't know about trading all of that for KAT at C and Melo at PF but that problem could be rectified with the MLE in the off season. The only way I would do this if I'm the GM of our team is if I'm hellbent on losing Gary and keeping CJ... which is very possibly what Neil is thinking. I would much rather get KAT by trading CJ to the Knick, us trading Nurk to the Wolves and the Knicks trading Randle to the Wolves. I think the Wolves might like that deal better too because with all of their young guards I don't see Gary being that attractive to them but they could use an upgrade like Randle at PF. As I've been saying we might also get Rivers in a CJ for Randle deal. So there's that too. Nobody needs to get their calculators out, this deal works on all trade checkers. As far as this goes I don't think you get the blocks, steals and rebounds that KAT does without playing any "defense, at all." Nurk is the better defender but KAT is a better defender than Enes and that's who we've been winning with. Bottom line is that I wouldn't trade Gary, DJ, Nurk and Zach's injured ass for CJ and KAT. In my eyes it's the idea that instead of getting CJ and Nurk back, we get KAT to go with the team we're playing right now. That sounds great to me.
No I never believer in giving up 1/4 your roster up to get one player. Plus towns can't get minnesota to win.
1. Sure, any Blazer fan would love that, but I can't see the Rockets going for it. 2. This is one sure way to get more minutes for Nas. 3. Jones hasn't really contributed much beyond a couple of nice highlights.
Houston would die for this deal. I'm not sure why in the world we would want it but Houston sure would. Tucker is eleven years older than DJ and is playing like it. Over the last ten games Tucker isn't shooting the three close to as well as DJ. He never is as effective as DJ is from the field overall and he is no longer the force he once was on D. In fact it's a pretty easy call that DJ is the better defender at this point. I don't like this trade at all and think it would be based on what each guy has done previous to this season, instead of what they're now doing and capable of doing in the future. Especially the way both players are trending.
Like I said, I'm not interested. That doesn't mean there aren't those that are. But, trading a zero&D player for another zero&D player, one should take the one with lots of upside, not the one that almost out of the league... and it's not close, imho.
