There are a lot of car engines that were and are made of aluminum without warping. The Chevy Corvair for one. I think there are some European sports cars that make their engines out of an aluminum alloy. The American armored personnel carrier uses an alloy out of principally aluminum armor. I worked on the design of one in St. Louis.
I took my wife’s Vega to Hubbard Chevrolet for some service one day, and they gave me a Cosworth Vega as a loaner. Talk about putting lipstick AND a tuxedo on a pig, but damn was that a fun car to drive. I went through an entire tank of gas opening it up on the backroads of Marion and Clackamas Counties. They were a tad bit annoyed when they saw how many miles I had put on it.......
I had a '73 FIAT. (fix it again tony) and for that reason I'll never have one, ever. I should have bought a few muscle cars and earned some money in the late 70's.
I attended a Black church in N. Portland for many years as a youth. I'm looking forward to watching this program. Gospel music is a HUGE part of that culture. https://www.pbs.org/show/black-church/
Yes, but not because of the aluminum block. As I recall, it had more to do with the placement of the gas tank. I watched an episode of Wheeler Dealers, one of my all time favorite TV shows, where they restored a Corvair to better than new - Mike Brewer and Ant, which I think is short for Antonio, two Brits in LA, now returned to Great Britain.

That engine is unique to the triple seven. The triple seven was undergoing about the mid way point of the design when I left the company. I was part of a team of mid level and upper level management undergoing producibility improvements on the three jumbo jets at the time. There was the 747, the 767 and the 777 undergoing final design. Engines come from Pratt and Whitney, Rolls Royce and GE. Don't know who makes that engine but a simple Google search would probably answer that question.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy Signs Three Bills Legalizing Marijuana (yahoo.com) This a big deal for a State that fucks up it's budget as it's motto. They passed it because the budget has been in a urinal for decades. That's the reason the bill passed. Of Course, I see immediate benefits.
Ed had a filthy dirty mouth and had other people do most of his work. There must be a reason why he and Mike parted ways. Anyhow, Ant is even better than Ed.
Ed is English. Don't all mechanics curse when their partner takes the credits and makes little profit for the two of them? I guess if your 6'8" and work in that field, your back is going to bother you at the end of the day. I never heard him curse in any episode but it's his right because he is an Englishman..
