Do there have to be deaths before any concern? I'd bet, if you took a poll of America to name one city that stands out as a city of ongoing unrest and violence, Portland would top that list by far. It's plain as day for the entire nation to witness. When and how it stops is the larger issue at stake.

That wasn't the point. The point had to do with the severity.

Actually, the point has extended from a text I had shared yesterday morning from my friend....who lives there.

And I'm sure if you took a poll of America to name a city that had a bomb go off on Christmas day, Portland wouldn't top that list.

    Talk about a wild conflation.

Well, that sand you spoke of is about a 2-3 hour drive West of Portland. There's plenty of it there. Enjoy.

I say it's a matter of the heart. The problem is fixed at home.

Hour and a half drive. I've made that drive two or three hundred times. My parents and my brother used to live in Gearhart.
In fact, American Legion post 99 is in Seaside. I'm a life member there.

Actually, the point is that you always highlight things that you think makes your point true, even if it's a flawed source. So I responded by highlighting a fact (the bombing) as if it was totally 100% how things are all the time there.

You hardly ever cop to being completely wrong, and instead you just leave a conversation wait until people forget about it and then search for new confirmation bias sources and post it. Then you play the "gosh, I'm just hearing it from people who live there!" routine, rinse and repeat.

It shows no growth, and to be honest, there's a reason why people routinely, and easily, tear apart your arguments. And it's *not* because it comes from a more conservative point of view, it's because they're so woefully uninformed and flawed.

So while I'm not surprised that you responded the way you did (it's par for the course), I'm also not surprised that you completely and absolutely, missed the point.

Alright alright put the measuring tapes away

Portland is still recovering from the impact of covid which has caused increased homeless populations concentrating in downtown, stores shutdown some for good, and boarded up businesses and graffiti due to anarchists. There is work to be done.

Nashville was home of a domestic terrorist who bombed the city on Christmas.

    There it is. Enough.

Look, Portland is my birthplace. Contrary to what you may believe. I love the city. I was sharing a text from a friend who lives there. He's not exactly pleased with the current situation, either. That's the point. That all said, I do have hope. And, contrary to your comments, above, here's a hopeful piece you may actually be interested in. I was:

Never doubted that you were born in Portland. Not sure what that has to do with anything.

You've shared biased articles before. that's the point.

Trump uses Portland as an example of failed liberal dems everytime he opens his fat stupid mouth.....it's not a stretch that a 2 time Trump voter who lives in the birthplace of some major white supremacist organizations and leads the country in violent crimes would parrot Portland as the evil blue city in the west and blame politics for socioeconomic woes and turn it into a cops vs the anarchists drama

Are you saying all the problems with downtown Portland are due to COVID-19? If so, I would argue that is false.
