In short - It’s the same as every bill ever written. It’s named the complete opposite of what it does and full of irrelevant shit the other side is going to whine about to further delay passage. The good news is I just found out I am “affluent” with my wife and I’s whopping $80k combined household income (if we’re lucky) and we will not be receiving a check due to our economic privilege.
We’re good. Cost of living is low here and we are pretty good with our money. Appreciate the kind words though I couldn’t imagine being somewhere like California (hell even Oregon now) where cost of living is higher and being told 75k and above is “more affluent”. It’s especially strange they base it on 2019 income, before anyone was affected by COVID. Can’t even pretend politicians are trying to make sense at this point.
My wife and I want to plan a trip to Yellowstone in the next couple of years. I think we want to make our (week-long) base in Jackson Hole. Does that seem about right? Thanks in advance.
It's his fault because he's not advocating for it or applying pressure to help it pass. It's his fault because he promised $2000 checks and is only pushing for $1400. Its his fault because he has the largest microphone on the planet and he's not supporting or advocating for the policies he promised the progressives he would. And without their votes Trump would be our president right now. Now, any progressive that actually believed Joe Biden has had their head in the sand for decades, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't hold his feet to the fire. The people want the policies he promised. We should do everything in our power to make sure he delivers, and let him hear us loudly when he proves it was a lie.
My wife and I did just such a trip almost 3 years ago and it was a blast. That said, after about 2 full days, there’s not much left to see or do in Jackson itself. But then, if you really want to do Yellowstone right, it takes a couple of days all by itself it’s so damn big. It’s definitely a place God did well. And if you have the time, Bozeman MT is a very nice place to spend some time in with the wife if you head out the north entrance of Yellowstone.....
Yeah, Jackson would be the closest and most accommodating. Yellowstone you can see nearly the whole thing in a day or two. I’d try to get a little farther off the beaten path the rest of the time, if you’re into that kind of thing. Yellowstone is cool but it’s like being at Disneyland with the hoards of insane people. Bridger-Teton and Shoshone natl forests are right there. There are also a lot of tiny towns that are fun to pop into for a drink and BS with the local yokels.
Yeah, I wish Joe would lie, whine, yell, threaten and just be a major dick in general......you know, like the former guy.......
In fact, they did. Kamala Harris went to West Virginia and pushed for the $15 minimum wage, royally angering Manchin. Beyond that, we have no idea what pressure is or isn't being applied behind the scenes. But they did apply pressure to Manchin out in public, in his own state. They (Democrats) promised the $2000 that they advocated for from the start. $600 of that was distributed, so they're now making up the remaining $1400. I agree that he's not a progressive, but I find the arguments that he lied to be unpersuasive.
But, but.....every time your guy opens his pie hole, he can’t seem to get past a rehash of of being so mistreated for the past four years........ I’ll move on when he does
