Or you could trade your wife in on one like have. My wife lets me watch whatever I want anytime I want.
If they hired her I'd back her 100%. It would add something to the team. I agree she would have to work harder but as a coach she would have to earn the respect. Not sure how it would pan out? I'd be willing to see what happened though.
Better analogy for sure. But still not quite there. You are making fans into shareholders. I guess it works if you measure the amount of emotional investment. It's different for each person and your company has loyal customers I'm sure. The other side is many fans here complain about the team being "Run like a business" "More interested in profit than winning" Again the two edged sword. Absolutely not saying you are wrong. I agree with this premise. Just playing devils advocate. I also am not opposed to getting a better new system in place that takes the team further. If that takes firing Stotts then so be it!
Wasnt trying to ignite anything just asked if you thought they were good at their craft. You have your own show and comment on your opinions about players and their strengths weakness's all the time because I listen to you guys. My questions was inline wit all the critique about GM's, coaches, & records.
yep and playing further devils advocate, sometimes it doesn't require a firing. Sometimes just a shuffling, or key addition will do the trick. Id like to see Stotts forced into a more managerial role like alot of college coaches do in football. Id like olshey to force a defensive guru on him and put a leash on stott’s detailed coaching. We just hired a new production manager at my work. The old one didn't get fired, just slid over to estimating/project management. Not only because there was an increasing need for help, but his skillset is now being better utilized. The new production manager has skills better set for that position. no firings. Just increased management help and more evened out workload. Now were running at optimal efficiency. I don't personally think the Blazers need to fire anyone yet. They just need to plug a few deficient holes in certain areas.
That is an idea i have not read on here? Maybe someone did bring it up? Stotts moving into a GM spot and hiring a new coach? Becky Hammond? Think about that? Stotts is 63. Is he ready to move off the sidelines? No question he could use a defensive coordinator that could shake things up.
Three actually. But whatever one I want to watch she drops her program and either watches her show on another TV, all three are connected to the same video recorder, or does some kind of housework which is usually fixing me a delicious meal. The only two things she expects of me is that I sit down to eat when she calls me and that I go to bed when she goes to bed no matter how early that is. Oh, she also expects me to never raise my voice or curse unless the loud voice and cuss words are directed at Trump.
hmm stotts as gm? He might be too soft though. Cant get attached. If some think olshey is too attached to his players, I could only imagine the tone Stotts would get on that. Lol. But i would like to see Tibbets back or even Thibodau as a defensive coordinator. Ita hard to say without being witness to their practice regime, what they work on and how they work on it, but certain things need fixing or improving, for sure.
Im thinking John Calipari could make a jump to the NBA and might do well in the NBA? Also, I know not many are fans of this guy but Mark Jackson could be worth another look as a coach. Defense! Just a thought
Mark Jackson as Defensive Head Coach. Answers to Stotts on everything but defense. Jackson calls all defense. Stotts does the subbing during games, Jackson calls defensive cover based on the floor aNd provides input to Stotts as needed, during games. Eog issue? If not, Make it happen.
I read this am that GP is working ok deal to assistant coach and will be announced soon. Spec its Nate and the Hawks.
nothing....but my comment was about posts saying people who are happy with the coach and front office are happy with failure. or mediocrity....which to me is not watering down their own opinion but watering down mine ....I happen to be a big fan of Terry and management here but somebody says that my support of the coach is The Good Ship Lollypop cheering for failure and I'm going to say....that person doesn't get to water down my fandom or stop me from respecting the coach. Agreeing to disagree is really what it come down to. I've seen a lot of Blazer coaches...I think we got the right one this time and if Terry was fired, I'd adapt to that just like when Nate was fired...meanwhile I'm not a frustrated fan of where we are
I somehow think that on ironworker's wages , you could afford a new TV. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insign...tfOLtSBmERIcPl165uxoCaXgQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Knowing with 100% certainty would be impossible, but here's what we do know: We've only had one, below average height all-star on the roster for 6 years. Teams with this simple roster make up do not have a history of great playoff success. I will do a deep dive on this later once I have a bigger sample set and add more variables, but I'm going off my early findings which indicate this is a decent predictor of future playoff success. There is not a pattern of players leaving Portland (under Stotts) and seeing a massiving improvement from leaving his system. Have there been people have improved? Yes. Regressed? Yes. If we saw a consisten pattern where #1 or #2 were happening, my level of concern would easily be high enough for me to saying we need to try something else. Since this is not true, I have a high degree of confidence that when (not if) a new coach comes in, we will not see a jump the next season where we make it back to the WCF.
Ok....lets here why? I was thin king someone can learn over time to take a new approach with people and he was a great defender himself and has coached. Sure, he the type of coach that may get on ya but that's something the blazers could use?
Yep, Olshey is the one that has to go. I just think that if he does that it probably results in Stotts's exit too. We'll hopefully see a really great playoff run or see Olshey gone and then wait on a Stotts decision.
