He can still hit the midrange and three, set screens and draw fouls. Love Kanter, but he’s strictly good around the basket. Aldridge would be an upgrade for the second unit.
If we did do that, that would make Kanter expendable and we could include him with Hood, which would be enough salary to trade for someone with a bigger salary. Not necessarily Gordon, but we would need more salary than Hood and Trent to match a player like Gordon.
So a lot of Spurs are rumored to be on the block....Rodney and Zach are our best trading expiring contract chips and Zach fits the age ....would you take on Patty Mills or DeRozan for them? They'd both fill positions of need now.
Dollars would dictate Mills as the only viable option. DeRozan makes almost $28 mil. Mills is less than half of that. Hood and Collins would work from a salary standpoint. If there’s no plan to bring either back next season, trading them for an experienced backup PG could be a good move.
He's shooting 46.4 FG%, and 36.0 3FG%, which seems very reasonable. From the videos above, he is still effective offensively. Defense? Way better than Blake Griffin.
outside of the on court stuff, i don't think he'd be a good culture fit. how many stories did we read about how relieved some people were that he left back in 2015? People were walking on eggshells around him. Even if Dame has mended fences, I dunno how the coaching staff feels. With Nurk back, we really have no use for him, and he'd make a fuss about not starting. Let him go to Boston.
I don’t like LA but I almost guarantee he would be good here, If he came back I think he would play very motivated for this franchise.
I feel like Woj was doing some work for his sources when he said San Antonio was confident they would find a trade. Marks did the same shit with Griffin/Detroit.
LA will chase a ring, again! I dont see him wanting to really, come here. Just like he had everyone convinced he really, wanted to stay here before.
