I've crossed my fingers, toes and arms that you're right.
Of course, I was dead wrong about Carmelo Anthony.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
To follow up on this, though, while I'd rather have Porter or Hill than Aldridge, I'd rather have Aldridge than Melo. So, really, I'd prefer to get one of those two, plus Aldridge, and cut Melo. Now, if Portland could get both guys, then I'd rather no Aldridge or Melo, but that seems pretty unlikely.

    Melo isn't going anywhere.

Just as Stotts isn't going anywhere.

    And CJ isn't going anywhere.

    And Olshey isn't going anywhere.

    Way to be a buzzkill.

Let's say that my post depicted my opinion in a perfect universe. We do not inhabit that perfect universe.

The Blazers are a bad hallmark movie with a predictable plotline. We all know how the movie is going to end and yet for some god awful reason we keep watching.

I'm more than ok with LMA for the minimum. Though I want a massive consolidation trade made.

Like you, I was also wrong about Melo; he's provided way more value than I expected.

The guy I'm slightly angry we didn't go after was Batum. His effective play in LA was very predictable.

I wanted him. I thought he'd be the perfect backup point guard.

He would have addressed a lot of the team's issues as either a wing or a guard. And it was obvious to anyone who knows Nico that he was tanking in Charlotte just waiting for a chance to play on a team with meaningful aspirations. The flaw for the Hornets was them thinking Nico would be veteran who set the tone, but we know he's a far better follower than leader. Maybe we did go after him and he rebuffed us? I dunno, just annoyed at that one.

I mean, we're assuming he would come back, but Neil sitting on this empty roster spot while we are hurting so bad right now for bodies is just infuriating.

Especially when Giles went down. Watching Dario Saric destroy us last night was ridiculous. We could just as easily be 15-21 right now, were it not for Dame's greatness saving both Neil/Terry

They hate him there. You should go read pretty much any Laker fan forum. They call him a waste of space.
I always liked Frenchy but he was always way too worn down for the season after playing all summer for the FNT.

same thing...they've been roommates forever and I think they sell reversable Laker Clipper jerseys in LA for fans.

Yeah that was pretty much my problem with him. I was doing pre game writeups at the time when he was playing. I usually had a player listed that could be the deciding factor for the game. Batum led that list 7 out of 10 times. If he was hitting shots and rebounding the Blazers won going away. It was like clockwork. The magic number was 8 rebounds for Nic Batum. If he contributed 8 points and 8 rebounds just put it in the win column.
