Here’s a deal that I think is realistic but people here will hate: Hood for Aminu and a second. I’m sure the Magic would love to get off Aminus 10 million next year. Blazers could use Aminus defense and rebounding in the second unit.
well, even if it's true that Olshey has the hots for Gordon, the trade options don't look real good, for either Portland or Orlando. For the Blazers I think it's safe to assume they are determined to stay under the tax this year. So, right now they are working with a 1.878M margine of space under the tax line Gordon's salary this season is 18.136M. So, at a minimum the Blazers have to send out 16.26M in salary. * Portland could trade Hood + Zach + Elleby...that gets them there. But that leaves them with 12 players, which is 2 below a minimum roster and less than 200K under the tax line. I don't think that's a legal trade because of the minimum roster rule, but maybe I don't know all the details of the rule * Hood + Jones gets it done and even increases their under-tax margin. But it really leaves the Blazers with only RoCo and Trent at the wing, and wing is already Portland's biggest weakness relative to the league. I guess Gordon could play SF in some circumstances * RoCo + Zach works, but again, that may be illegal if the minimum roster rule can't be breached. Besides that, I'm not sure is Gordon is much of an upgrade over RoCo. * Hood + Jones + Elleby for Gordon + MCW works. That leaves Portland about 400K below the tax line. Maybe the Blazers can satisfy the minimum roster rules by signing a series of 10 day contracts until a pro-rated minimum contract for the balance of the season keeps them out of the tax. At least that way, the Blazers have a backup PG. Unfortunately, not a good one and for all those trades I'm having a hard time seeing much incentive for Orlando. Blazers would probably have to trade another 1st round pick. And then they would have traded three 1sts for RoCo and Gordon. That's a little nuts maybe a 3-team trade would solve some of these issues
lol i was watching justin patton highlights just the other day. but Jones has been on this for a while now saying how much portland could use a playmaking 4.
simons, jones, hood for Gordon and filler. Frees up time for Nas and you upgrade from Jones with Gordon.
I completely forgot about Little in a previous post. I guess I'm thinking like Stotts but just Hood + Jones for Gordon works. That would leave RoCo, Little, and Trent at wing
Do you not consider Gordon a wing? He’s switchable on defense and can hit a jump shot. That’s a wing in today’s NBA.
It doesn't really matter what the fans think when it's the GM of the team that has the stiffy for him.
I cannot wait until the deadline passes with no move and olshey comes out of hiding to give brook an interview about how getting nurk and CJ back will solve all their problems.
