I'm a writer and I have a knack for being able to take complex, often boring subjects and make them sound interesting, fun, and accessible. That alone has gotten me a lot of clients. My other superpower is that sometimes I can guess ahead of time which house the couple will pick on House Hunters.
ohhh i have several! i can turn off street lights. I have not yet learned how to control it however. I can play along to almost any music even if i have never heard it. Not note for note, but feel the chord changes and improvise accordingly. I can do this on any instrument, but my powers truly become substantial if i choose to use my voice. I can often predict the melody and cadence to most songs having never heard them before. I also have an eye for lines and angles. It helped me be a near zero issue back hoe operator and spotter. But i must say, My greatest power of all is picking up my phone and tossing the cape on and becoming captain superass on some nba fan forum. At times i even sit back and marvel at myself and the powers i have, use and abuse. you really should end this thread now, as i do not believe anyone has anything comparable.
Writing is my thing....as well as music and to some extent art...probably connected to music is my ability to learn languages...I hear tones very well. I can pick up patterns easily in the world of percussion...got a lot of gigs by being a quick study in the studio or on stage...I'm a good listener. (I believe at one point traveling the world alone I could ask for sexual favors in 40 languages!) I understand how to teach in context...had 100% return rate for students in the medical college I worked at for 6 years and they still use my syllabus materials for their classes decades after I left.
I sometimes feel like I can barely hold a conversation with individuals but get me in front of a group of people and I can become incredibly engaging and funny. I delivered a killer wedding speech shortly after it was decided that I would be the one to do it. I also tend to catch things that I bobble or that unexpectedly slip out of my hands.
Interestingly enough, I’m reading a book about grit as part of one of my teaching classes and it emphasizes that many of our “gifts” are built through practice and interest. I’m not surprised that riverman can do all of those things as they all seem to be related to auditory processing.
My superpower is my mighty brain. My other superpower is my mighty pole which makes my arm ache every time I urinate.
maybe one day I’ll get there. I’ve started practicing meditation and it’s been helping me worry less and live in the moment.
Sixth sense - I often know things that are going to happen before they do. I often know what people are thinking Cat like reflexes Endurance Writing Multitasking I know if people are near me even if I can't see them. I sense them. I have insane peripheral vision
i call bluff on your endurance. First hand witness lol. edit: wait. That was on the bbcourt. I have seen it elsewhere. I take that back.
Interesting that you should say reflexes, when I worked at Boeing building 747s I often wandered through the factory while looking at large drawings of some portion of the airplane we were having trouble with. We had a 'A', 'B' and 'C' decks. I remember that the letters were not ordered logically. I think 'A' and 'B' decks were reversed but the top deck was the 'C' deck if memory serves me. I'd be on the top deck looking at my drawing and concentrating heavily, which is why I was good at my job. Every so often I would come to a wing which was right at my forehead level. If I were to walk into it I would be seriously hurt. In a split second I would spot the wing with a foot or so of open space before walking into the wing and I would duck just barely in time. I w0uld do this sometimes several times in the same day. I noticed that everyone else would stop to look at their drawings. I also liked to race people and when the light would change I would have that split second advantage of getting off first. I grew up a very small child and I think that dodging the bigger kids, which was virtually everyone, gave me fast reflexes.
My super power is that despite staggering evidence against me, or no matter how much it makes me look like an asshole, I will find a way to continue to argue with someone!
