Kanter is Portland's 3rd best player this year, and Minny is without their 2nd best player too

 

That logic makes sense to me, but clearly they did review the foul itself, not the restricted area.

Reminds me of the instances where they're reviewing to see who the ball went off of and the replay clearly shows there was a missed foul call; pretty sure they can't overturn those. This seems to be similar.

 

I hate on the refs and blame them as much as the next guy, and while they did pretty shitty, they aren't why we lost. Stotts is reasons 1, 2, and 3 why. We also played bad most of the night

I disagree Kanter is Portland's 3rd best player. For the second night in a row he was too much of a liabilty that we had to go with Roco/Melo down low, double every possession, and give up a ton of rebounds. Same reason he got bounced from OKC, waived from the NYK, and benched in Boston.

If Kanter is the 3rd best player on our roster, there should be zero expectations we make the playoffs. And I like Kanter, as a backup!

Minnesota clearly isn’t any good. They were 8-30.

 

Kanter is a great guy and has his uses on the court, but there’s a reason why he’s never been a starter in his career, and there’s a reason why he’s sitting late in games. Olshey should’ve added a big when Collins went down, nevermind when Nurk did.

 

Or when Giles did... or when it was obvious that we couldn’t survive with RoCo and Melo in the post.

Never easy to beat a team twice in a row. Pretty much impossible when you don't decide to show up for the first 40 mins of the second game.

We should be a sub .500 team right now. Luckily for us, we've stole some games. Hopefully CJ can come back at the level he left off and Nurk can be the old Nurk from 2 years ago. While it won't make us near a championship contender, we should be significantly better.

 

It should be extremely easy when the team is an 8 win team. Again 8 wins bud.

yeah, Portland is a better team than Minny....obviously. But Minny was missing two starters, same as Portland

I thought you said Kanter was our 3rd best player, not better than Nurk. Just by availability, most the roster has been better than Nurk this year.

I know personally I try to only repeat the "2nd/3rd best player phrase" when the "Stotts is clueless" phrase is repeated over and over... Trying to provide fair and equal air-time!

Also, to be clear, I don't think this is a "good loss". Just one I thought was somewhat probable.

 

Stop blaming the refs. We lost to the worst team in the conference because of the way we play and the general mindset of our coach and the culture he espouses.

We don't play the kind of defense required to be so trigger happy on offense. For fucks sake, just attack the rim, move the ball, stop jacking the first three you can. This shit is 100% taught by our idiot coach. It's why we are so volatile. If we don't hit threes, we lose. End of story.
