Dwayne Bacon would be let go after this season. In Value Over Replacement Player, he is last on the Magic.

I am fairly sure who the source of this rumor is...
    Sounds a lot like this:

If we can make a lineup of....

    Dame
    CJ
    RoCo
    Gordon
    Nurk

Then do it. I’m sick of needing heroics to beat the Pels. Maybe it will work or maybe it won’t. I’d rather try to find out than not.

I’ve seen the Uncle Drew movie and the Orlando Magic win a playoff game every year but other than that, don’t know much about Gordon. Can he defend?

lol...yeah, that fits the definition of scrap. On the other hand, both Hood and Zach can be considered expiring contracts, and the Magic are only going to be 10-12M below the tax line next season; and that doesn't count Fournier

but from Portland's POV it doesn't work because it puts the Blazers about 800K over the tax line. And adding somebody like Giles, takes Portland down to 12 players, and that wouldn't be a legal trade IIRC.

    I know
I know I'm solidly in the trade CJ camp but I'd do this deal. I know we're in the win now mode because of Dame but we could flip these picks, Hoodie and DJ for a big time SF.

And the magic are a lottery team. There is no way that happens unless the 2021 pick is protected. The Blazers would do it though in a heartbeat i would think?

i think that's a No from the Magic. Top5 pick in 2021 draft has too much value and then you add another one in 2023 and Gordon. It's not that CJ will make them a contender to be worth that much. He might not be enough to even put them in a playoff spot since East is now deeper.

Everyone would say no. Orlando does not need another center, but we do.
If I am Orlando I would want ending contacts, and the best young players available.

Looking at their depth chart my guess is they would want Nassir Little who also happens to be an Orlando native.
But I think moving Little would be a mistake.

My guess is that Neil is offering a combination of Jones, Hood, Collins, Giles, and the other Orlando native (Simons) If I am Orlando I would do it. Collins is a risk but when healthy would be worth it.

If Orlando wants Trent instead of Simons......I would probably take it if I am Portland.....if they think Trent will be too expensive next year.

Id say thats to much. Gordon is injury prone too. Swap Simmons for Trent and maybe?

Not sure the 76ers would go for that.

No, they couldn't. Unless they want to go into the tax and have no money left to sign a buyout. Blazers would have to include at least a third player to make the contracts work and keep them below the tax.

It sounds like the Blazers want to trade for Gordon and leave room to sign Aldridge if he gets bought out.
