I don't know how you define guaranteed. They obviously did lose, but Jeff Green hitting both FTs had a 57% likelihood. Got to think Dame had at least a 30% chance of some crazy 3 if he missed one. So like 17% chance of winning with the strategy we tried (higher if you believe Dame is clutch). Obviously we were not in an advantagous position to win the game.

 

Coach Stotts is receiving DEATH THREATS tonight on twitter. The players as well.

 

This lashing and flamming on players/coaches is a common thing. The more it's normalized, the more emboldened people will be to take it to the next level.



Nothing wrong with saying you don't think our schemes are good, or that player X is bad in the PnR. But the straight hateful comments are gross.

I've seen the posts on twitter. They're bad enough I wouldn't repost them here.

 

Saying that you hope someone’s plane crashed isn’t a death threat. Is it horribly inappropriate? Yes. But if I say I hope you stub your toe it doesn’t mean I’m threatening to beat you up.

 

There are screen shots of multiple murder threats towards Coach Stotts after tonight's game.

Meh. A death threat to me is someone saying they’re going to drive to your house and shoot you in the head. Posting in all caps LYNCH STOTTS is just stupid fans blowing off steam.

I guess I don't care about the Blazers as much as others. That's never once crossed my mind to say. I want Olshey fired, I've never said one thing that could be seen as a threat towards him or probably that even comes off as me being angry.

I don't recall you doing that, so it's hard for me to say. I suppose if it were my best friend of 30 years who said "I want to kill you" after I beat him in cards, I wouldn't care. However, a stranger putting that out in the world over the internet, not my cup of tea.

Personally, don't seriously or jokingly threaten people online, I don't think it's cool or funny.

 

Sure but there’s death threats and then there’s people saying stupid shit. How many people were saying all kinds of shit about Trump while he was in office? When people are angry they say stupid shit. But there are definitely threats that should be taken seriously.
