The Blazers deserve at least a consistent and accurately called game on their home court, but did not see that fundamental met in the Mar 23 loss 116-112 to the Nets. This was a tight game where calls mattered. The Refs should have strived for consistency and accuracy, but they did not. Fantom fouls of Harden by RoCo cost points and weakened his chance to defend. The documented error in taking Gary's swish3 away due to his incorrect call for stepping on the line cost us 3 critical points at a determinant point in the game. Why didn't the Refs review and correct this? No calls of fouls of Dame, CJ, and Enes cost points. This game was determined by the Refs to be a Blazer loss! This should not happen. Let's see what we can do to get consistent and accurate officiating on our home court for the rest of the season.
Our best players not being able to score at the end of the game cost us. Plenty of opportunities there.
Exactly. CJ made 2 out of 10 shots in the second half, along with 3 turnovers. Dame made 1 out of 7 shots. To be fair, Dame made a lot of assists and hit a couple of free throws and had 7 assists in the second half, but having your two stars shoot a combined 3 for 17 and losing by four points, I'd put a lot more blame on Dame and CJ than the refs, Stotts or Olshey.
The statement is important that the Blazer management should demand consistent and accurate officiating on our home court! With it, we would have won this game, in spite of disappointingly missed shots in Q4.
Every team should demand consistent and accurate officiating on every court. Doesn't really make a difference to me that is is home or away. Just my take.
