If I were Oldhey I’d package up whatever it takes to acquire Towns. He’s now locked up for the next few years, only 25, and gives Dame an honest chance at bringing a ring to Portland.

if we took on Rubio’s $17 million (he’s a free agent at the end of the year) and Towns, we can offer:

    CJ and Nurkic
    Add Simons
    Add Little
    Add a first round pick!

    We’d have:

    Dame
    Trent
    (Rubio)
    DJJ
    Hood
    RoCo
    Kanter
    (Towns)
    (McGee or maybe Aldridge)
    Collins
    Blevins!

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Why would we need McGee when we're trading Ant, Collins and Trent for Towns? How many centers do we need?

yea right, it would take Dame and Dame only to get Towns.

I didn’t suggest trading Trent? We need another center because I proposed trading Nurkic along with CJ and Ant for Towns and Rubio

    :)

Many. Have you seen our injured list every season? We need as many competent big men as possible.

Arguably the greatest offensive big in the league for CJ, mediocre role players, and a first? I can't see why Minnesota would turn that down.

Nurkic is a starting center and with CJ and other trinkets, it’s not bad. Could also be a 3-team deal whereby Nurkic and a pick goes from Wolves to Orlando so they wind up with CJ and Gordon

You had me until Orlando. They've got Vucevic already.

"Listen guys... what you don't understand is that we were one big away from the championship. Now that we have JaVale, we have a veteran with a championship pedigree that can fill that defensive void we've been feeling until Nurk gets back and then we'll still have JaVale off of the bench along with Enes. You can never have too much depth at a spot where we've had a few injury issues. Look, this is the team we've been waiting for and it's a real contender. You're welcome."

Guys play through Winter in Chicago, Boston doesn't have great weather either. I don't buy the weather thing at all. Also if you aren't a team in LA or NYC do you really just get superstars signing in free agency? Mostly we just see GMs making good and/or lucky moves to build teams through the draft, trades and crafty signings. Besides Miami, which was the fluky idea of three players, no team that I can remember has just signed multiple stars to win championships.
