I think this is one of Olshey's problems. He can't make a trade without first guaranteeing the Houston draft pick; but he is scared we might fall into the lottery (which would enable us to keep the pick).

Wait, what? Utah has literally never won a championship. One trip to the finals... ever.

Saw this in an Athletic article, from the Athletic's Celtics writer:

So it seems that his desire for a big market was overblown, if Portland is a place he'd be happy to go.

Some points for sure and I agree they are better defenders than our two guys. Utah like Portland has struggle over the last few years like Portland in being serious contenders, except for maybe this year.

I kinda wonder if his recent slump was because he knew he was gonna get traded.

Rockets are +4 and up 16 with 7:30 left and did not score after that... lol TWolves won by 6 as the Rockets fouled with 6 seconds left. Now that’s a bad beat

Utah went to the NBA Finals twice. Back to back years. 1997 & 1998.

Um beating bad teams is how you know you're not one. Before Nurkic got hurt, he was really coming on strong on the defensive end. We are a very good team, only 2.5 games behind the Clippers for the #3 seed.

Yeah they're one of eleven teams to never win an NBA title and they're the fourth oldest of those teams. If you don't count the Nets' ABA titles then the Jazz have gone the fourth longest amount of time without a title if you count the Nets' ABA titles then the Jazz have gone the third longest. Now, is that who we should be modeling ourselves after? Don't get me wrong they have the best record in the league right now but we've had the best record in the league at this point in the season before but we didn't win the title then.

Here's the deal, we all know that Zach's not the missing piece. So if we don't make some serious serious noise in the playoffs with this roster healthy outside of Zach, then the whole thing (for me outside of Dame) is up for grabs. Fire the GM... see what someone else wants to do and move on.

A healthy Zach Collins does indeed change this team.
Huge upgrade on defense over Melo.

Zach being out is not a legit excuse... first of all he's rarely healthy and second of all he's not that good. You site his defense which kind of looks good until you factor in all of the fouling. No Zach is not the missing piece and if we don't make it the furthest a Dame team has made it in the playoffs then neither Olshey or Stotts have any excuses.
