Chuck, why does the number 1 OA pick Mr. Lafrenniere who scored over 200 pts in juniors last year look like he's never played hockey before in his life under this coach? Why does he have 3 teenagers playing on a line together instead of giving them veteran support on the lines to speed up their development? The kid line sounds cute but was totally ineffective. And despite FINALLY scoring a couple of PP goals why doesn't this coach have have Kakko's 1 timer instead of Buch's slow as shit reactions on it so we don't have 4 left hand shots on it? Even Valiquette who is very knowledgeable has been harping on it. And lastly when will you reveal you are really Quinn's nephew? Asking for a friend!!

I don't know why he is struggling under Knoblauch or why he lost him on the bench as he said after one of the Caps games. You have to ask Kris that question (or is that on Quinn since it is negative which = on Quinn as only positive = on Knoblauch).

But I'm sure your answer is Quinn is ruining everyone as it's now back to being Quinn's team...LOL.

Good times. Blowing in the wind to fit your predetermined narrative as always mel.

And again Buch is not on PP1, Strome is with Zib, Kreider, Panarin, and Fox. Kakko is on PP2 with Buch. I know that nitpick is right up your alley though as you guys think you know better, and whine about every little thing. WWWWAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

    Come on mel!

Could his struggles have anything to do with the fact that, after skipping the WJC, he went almost 10 months between competitive games and had exactly zero pre-season games (or even a real training camp) to acclimate to the NHL game? There's never been a layoff and learning curve like that for a top pick that I can remember. It's ridiculous to think that his struggles are only because of one man, Sir David Quinn, the all powerful wizard who can sabotage even Connor McDavid. Laf also did not have over 200 pts in juniors in one year, no idea where you got that number from.

What a weird complaint. I dont like that line, but that line has not been together all that long. Lafreniere has spent way more time with Zibanejad as his center than Chytil. Kakko has played very often with Strome and Panarin. Guess what - neither of them lit it up playing with veterans. So it appears Quinn tried to shelter them a bit recently and get them easier matchups to get their games going. Fair and reasonable though not something I would do.

Kakko is also a left hand shot. And this mythical one-timer of his has turned into quite the urban legend. His one timer is fine. It's not something he's ever been known for, and just because he one-timed a nice feed on an odd man rush doesnt mean he is now the next Shea Weber. Buchnevich earned his PP time this year. You want to find Kakko room on the second unit too, that's fine. But saying Buch should come off is not realistic.

I'm sure he'll reveal it right after you reveal that David Quinn stiffed you on an autograph last year and you still havent gotten over it.

I am not a huge fan of David Quinn as a coach. His offensive system is too predictable. If we are down late we seem to have no adjustment when teams shift to a defensive focus. Some of his lineup moves are questionable. Our forecheck is too easily beaten. He hasnt gotten a lot out of the young forwards this year. There is a ton of room for him to improve. But reading this godawful message board you would think the guy was the devil himself. People need to be realistic. 4/9 top forwards are kids. 2/4 top defense are kids. Youngest team in the league. We had no preseason. A fake training camp. Unbelievable struggles from our best 2 way player that dragged the whole team down. Awful goaltending. A Russian hit job on our best player and he went into hiding for a month. A day to day injury to our best goalie that takes him an eternity to come back from. There's so much other shit going on this year you all look like absolute CLOWNS just crying about David Quinn over and over.

Agree 100% Prod, right down to your take on Quinn. It's like there are two camps, either you despise Quinn and think he's the devil as you wrote, or you take a more measured we'll see approach and that means you are related to him. That's how this board works led by their leader - who advocates firing people 4 months after they are hired.

As I have written many times, I am not sure on Quinn. I am not sold on him being the long term answer. I am not sold on him being the guy to take us to the next level hopefully starting next season. I have issues with decisions he has made. I have written that many times.

I have also written, while I do feel that is true, I also think he deserves a chance to be the coach when the team is ready to take the next step, hopefully next season. Then we'll see if he is up to it. To date I do not see what the guy has done to deserve to be fired, I really don't. This team is not ready to win yet, despite all the entitled over the top Rangers fans thinking they are.

To me the pressure on Quinn gets ramped up next season. It is sink or swim for him at that point. I think he deserves that chance given the state of the team when he took over to now (self-proclaimed rebuild, youngest team in NHL, 13 mill of dead cap space, no camp/condensed season).

As for the PP question, mel thinks Buch is on PP1 and Kakko should replace him there. That is incorrect. Both Buch AND Kakko currently play on PP2.

Pretty much everything you said was wrong Prod. Kakko has scored several one timers off the rush in the NHL already and in Finland he was used on the PP doing it. It's not urban legend. It's called not having your fucking head up your ass when evaluating a player. Kakko wasn't a unanimous choice second overall because he was an incredible skater. He got drafted for second overall for his array of shots, hands and size. Strome on the PP at RW is useless. Every time Fox gives him the puck he turns and then has a guy in front of him and the play goes nowhere. Having Kakko one time the puck would make the PP more efficient. Any moron can see that. Complaining about shitty coaching does not make one look like a clown. It makes Rangers fans like you and Chuck look like you don't give fuck about championships. Which is exactly why the team has sucked cock 80 out of 81 years and has one cup to show for it. Accepting fucking retard coaching and GM'ing has been accepted by the majority of our fan base. To some of us who actually give a shit about this team winning cups it's not acceptable. Quinn has a pretty good track record going of doing jack shit with first round forward picks. Kakko has regressed under him. Lafreniere has done nothing. He's completely fucked over Gauthier. Chytil looked like he was about to take off. He got hurt which is not Quinn's fault. Comes back, struggles a little and then the dumb fuck puts him on an all kid line with little experience. Moronic. Andersson may never have amounted to shit but when he outplayed Howden all pre-season and the retard rewards Howden with more ice time from day one, it's poor coaching. Quinn is a shitty coach. I finally see more and more Rangers fans pointing it out on other boards. I said for months I wanted the AHL coach. You can see a much higher level of respect with him behind the bench. If you don't, you're just full shit.

What does 1 title in 81 years have to do with the current leadership in place for less than 3 REBUILDING years?

It is also once again laughable that you want to blame Quinn for everything. Players struggle to acclimate to the NHL, potentially for the reasons Prod called out, means Quinn is awful and ruined player X. Any credit for Fox or Miller or Buch or Strome or Zib? Of course not.

And your nerve to even mention Andersson at all shows your absolute lack of touch with reality. The kid doesn't even sniff the lineup with the Kings, but you blame Quinn. Comical.

You started a fire Quinn post 4 months after he was hired, that is your thing. You know better, you worship kids, you make up trades that never EVER EVER happen, and you want the coach fired constantly.

And no fans don't point it out on other boards. Unlike here where you have your cult followers, the other boards call you out for your nonsense and you disappear and don't kill the board like you do this one.

You can see a higher level of respect - I'll tell you what I see...LOL.

Don't believe me. Read people who actually scout players for a living.

    Offensive Game
Kakko is a highly skilled winger who can create in a variety of ways. He has the soft hands to stickhandle in a phone booth and can protect the puck and extend plays. His wrist shot is extremely powerful and features a very quick release. He also has an effective one-timer. Kakko uses his soft hands to finish plays in tight. All of this makes him a pure sniper. However, he can also be an effective playmaker. When an opportunity presents itself, he can set up a teammate for a scoring chance. Kakko is a smart player who sees the play developing and makes the smart play. He has very good vision and can find an open teammate in front of the net. His soft hands and quick feet allow him to change angles and beat a defender to create a passing lane.

Kakko is mature, poised and displays high intelligence with or without the puck. He constantly is in motion and uses his strength to win physical battles or get inside positioning on opponents. Kakko uses a variety of moves and fakes to get himself into shooting position, but he doesn’t not require optimal conditions to wire off a blistering, accurate shot that is labeled for the corner or far post. Although he may one day be classified as a power forward, Kakko is more competitive than he is physically intimidating, and his work in corners and in front of the net delivers positive results far more often than a broken play or unforced error. He owns a wide stride and his straight-line speed is above-average for a big winger. But he is agile, well balanced, nimble and he can beat defenders either inside or out. Kappo’s endurance is excellent during the first half of his shifts, but like most larger forwards, he can run out of gas in the middle of a play.

That's a hint for one timing it jackass.

No, this is not a "hint for one timing it" Just because you want it to say something doesnt mean it says it. This refers to his ability to get off accurate shots in traffic, which has always been a strength of his given his power-forward style and skill at keeping possession of the puck.

Right. Effective one-timer. I said his one-timer was fine, and sounds like this scout petty much agrees with me. That is a far cry from how it has been described on here, as some ridiculously powerful shot that Quinn has to be a moron not to see.

Finally, you want to call me a jackass for disagreeing with you dump? FUCK YOU. You are a piece of shit loser with the most pathetic inferiority complex I have ever seen in my life. If someone disagrees with you, it is name calling and then you hit ignore just like a delicate little snowflake. In reality you are a child you that does nothing but picks fights with people and act likes they are smarter than everyone else. You dont know shit about hockey, you think sitting on your loser ass the past 50 years whining about whoever the coach is at the time makes you a fucking hockey genius. Newsflash idiot, it doesnt. It makes you a fucking loser. Now go get laughed out of another message board now that you've destroyed this one too.

Just admit you're wrong and stop sucking off Quinn. Watch the games with your eyes open. One of Kakko's strengths and a huge reason he was drafted was his ability to shoot the puck in various ways. Lord, I can't believe we still have fans supporting this retard.

Prod is so dead on, you have killed this board with your nonsense. It isn't enough to disagree, you have to curse and use vulgar language, and then ignore people who actually call you on your BS.

No one ever said Kakko doesn't have a good shot. No one ever said he isn't going to be a good player. All I am saying is I don't need to nitpick micro-manage and think I know better than the coach of the team, and you do it non-stop no matter who the coach is, and start it 4 months after the guy is hired. That's a joke.

Bottom line is Kakko and Lafreniere have been given plenty of PT and opportunities this year, and they are what they are currently. That is not on Quinn, that doesn't mean they won't both be stars, that's just the way it is as very young kids coming into the NHL after a shortened season last year, and no camp this year.

That doesn't mean everyone sucks and fire everyone. Wrap your head around that and stop looking for someone to blame for every little thing that happens. And start accepting that because a coach or GM doesn't do everything you want or think they should do doesn't make them bad, and doesn't mean they should be fired.
