We have two roster spots available. About 2.7 mil under the tax line.

So plenty of room and money to be able to land two guys of significance.

I think the rotation now looks like this:

Dame (35)/ CJ(13)
CJ (22)/ Powell (25)
Jones (25)/ Nas (20)/ Powell (3)
Roco (30)/ Melo (18)
Nurk (28)/ Kanter (20)

Spot minutes: Simons/Giles

Melo and Kanter need to be staggered in some way so I can even see Melo starting a bit. But I see a glaring hole for a PG. Assuming Collins isn't gonna do much of anything even IF he returns, I feel like we could really use some more depth at the wing. Porter seems like an obvious choice there. He might push Nas out of the rotation but also allow us to go to the Roco at C lineups that have been successful.

Unfortunately, I don't see any PGs available in the buyout market. Tentatively on the list now:

- Drummond
- Aldridge
- Porter Jr.

Hard to guess since we don’t know who’s actually getting bought out but among the rumored names Porter is clearly at the top of the list. Problem is hes probably on top of every other teams list as well.

The “sleeper” for me would be Dieng. Protects the rim and spaces the court.

If we didn't do Powell, then Redick would've been interesting, but likely not now.

If Horford does a Blake Griffin deal, sign me up.

Drummond is frustrating. He's not half as good a defender as he should be, and he's not a good pick and roll player and he can't shoot. Basically he's a great rebounder who demands the ball more than he deserves.

No I'm not. I'm saying it will be up to him to convince Aldridge to sign with Portland after he is bought out.

The FA players have to be on the roster a few weeks before the playoffs start to be eligible to play. I don't remember the exact date, but it's typically ~3 weeks after the trade deadline.

I think Aldridge would come here if Olshey/the team wanted and needed him. Not sure about that second part. I go back and forth on it. I think he could help, but I think there will be better players available.
