Good news for Quinn - you writing that means he will be the Rangers coach for a very long time. No one is wrong as often as you, actually not sure you have ever been right, so Quinn is safe for sure.
Shame of it is considering the Bruins have 3 games in hand and a 3 point lead over us, it is going to be real difficult to catch them (plus they have more games left against Buffalo than we do 6-4). I fear the L's against the Pens 2 weeks ago will be the undoing of our playoff chances. We are 10 points behind them, but have 2 games in hand. If we split those two games we could be almost neck and neck when factoring in games in hand. We have two games remaining against each the Bruins and Pens.
As bruins still have I believe 8 games left with buffalo we are not catching them. The only way we get in is to beat out Philly and pitt
mid your actually watching they do t coach the same. Knoblach gives the lines a chance to mesh and doesn’t change them 7 minutes into the game. and having a different personality s that the players look like the like is making a difference. I hope Quinn coaches remotely for the rest of the season
That may be true but the point was Zibanejad SAID there is no difference between how they coach aside from the personalities.
What you claim he said is not what he actually said is the point. Let's not lose sight of the fact that 3 of the 5 games Knoblach that was behind the bench were against the Sabres and a team who seems to be aspiring to be the Sabres.
Floundering Philly had 44 shots on goal, luckily Shesty came back with his A game but the Rangers didn't play well tonight, bailed out by inept Flyer defense. Every time the camera shows Knoblauch he's alone and quiet especially when one of his players has his hair pulled and face ground into the ice - that should be a multiple game suspension, amazing that NY didn't intervene and give a 5 minute major. I'm sure the followers were hoping Lemieux got injured. Funny how it's ok now for Laf, Kakko and Gauthier to be played under 14 minutes, why that was a fireable offense not to long ago. If you want to see a coach on the way out look no further than AV.
If you can't see how stupid your post was, there is no help for you. The Rangers didn't play well? They were up 6-0 asswipe. Jesus. Seek help Panzer. Kakko was playing on a line with Panarin. He played almost 14 minutes. Panarin played 17 and had 2 more minutes of PP time. Take that out and his ice time and Kakko's were pretty close. He spread the ice time out with a big lead which is what a real coach does. Gauthier played over 13 minutes. Lafreniere has always gotten ice time. If you actually read what a couple of posters were mostly criticizing Quinn on with Lafreniere was his coaching or better to say, lack of coaching. You've lost your mind. Time to put you on ignore. You're just lying and making up stuff now to defend a coach who the majority of our fan base thinks sucks. It won't matter because I am 100% confident he will not coach this team next year. The lies and horseshit from a few posters on this board has gone to a whole new level. When you get to the point when you say a team up 6-0 nothing in a game with 17 minutes to go in the second period isn't playing well it's time to stop being a fan. Not to mention just ignoring scouting reports on a player which say he does something well and call that urban legend. Man. We have a few posters that have sunk to the NJCup level.
Yeah, he made some great saves tonight otherwise the game would've been a lot closer. Rangers had some bad turnovers and Lindgren had some inexplicable falls at bad times. Gauthier had a nice power move towards the end of the game to give himself a scoring chance but to finish -1 in a game that was won 8-3 is not a good look for the most underrated 2-career goals player on Earth. At least he didn't take a penalty...!
Once again - cursing, vulgar, put you on ignore, lies (by far most of the fanbase does not think this coach stinks - only the irrational ones and their grand leader). This guy is absolutely killing this board.
Good effort, but unfortunately mel, god love him, has gone into the abyss following his grand leader. mel - Zib said they coach differently. What a knock on Quinn. grey - That is not what he said, he said they coach the same but have different personalities. mel - Do you watch the games, they do not coach the same. grey - That is not the point, you said Zib said something he did not. That's the transcript of your back and forth. It is comical. Here is the bottom line, the narrative is written to the grand leader and his followers. The facts don't matter. Bad, loss, player struggles it's on Quinn, it's still Quinn's team. Good, win, player does well, it's praise Knoblauch, and he is running the show now and the players know it. Even when they do the same thing and play kids less, doesn't matter, it's a ripping for Quinn and a praising for Knoblauch. This is where we are on a board ruined by one guy, their grand leader. Everything is about the coach, it kills real hockey talk, it's cursing and vulgar posts, and it's manipulating facts to meet the pre-determined narrative. Sad.
Yeah I will say, the Ignore feature is pretty nice. Remember when he said Buchnevich was one of the 10 dumbest players in the NHL? That was a good one. Meanwhile, in reality the kid has shown tremendous improvement this season. Strome has also been playing much better the last 4 weeks or so.
I still like mrmel. He's had a rough go of things the last couple years though (outside of the message board) if I remember correctly. Always considered him pretty reasonable so when he seemed to be going off the deep end I thought it was strange. Saturdays game is going to look a lot different in my opinion. Not because Quinn is behind the bench but for as poorly as the Flyers have played the last two weeks. And to lose the last two games against the same team by a 14 goal margin...coming back to face the same team in a back-to-back situation they are going be as defensively focused as an AV coached team can be.
Agree 100% on mel - I am a fan and supporter regardless of the coach craziness.... Saturday will be an interesting one. Essentially if the Flyers have any ba**s they will show up big. We'll see. And I think Quinn will miss at least Saturday from what I was reading. Maybe back Sunday or Tuesday.
I largely liked our game yesterday. Definitely gave up too many shots, but it is the nature of an AV team to pump lots of shots on net while giving up never ending grade-A chances coming the other way. They dont have the goaltending to play like that. AV is supremely lucky he had 2 of the best goaltenders of all time most of his career and he still ground them into dust. He is certainly on the hot seat there and rightly so. Typical gutless Flyer BS at the end, I hope Lemieux is given a long leash to chase down that guy tomorrow. If we're going to keep this up down the stretch one person we're going to need more out of K'Andre. Him and Trouba need to be relied on to eat tough minutes as we cannot play Adam Fox 25 min plus every night. Fox got off easy in the TOI category last night with the big lead. He's been incredible this year but is going to be a target for dickheads like Tom Wilson. KAndre has been very good but seems to be approaching that rookie wall lately. Luckily it seems like he is composed enough to power through and not let mistakes snowball. Would be good if Trouba played to his contract and bailed him out a bit to get him going. But in general hard not to be happy with these 6 on defense, even Hajek lately who I was down on to start the season. Him and Smith are a decent third pair for right now.
If Knobloch wants it, he should be made a full time assistant coach the second Quinn comes back. There's no reason we should make that guy go back to Hartford to ride the AHL buses.
Prod, I’m not doing that if I’m knoblach. If the rangers do t want him as coach now I go back to ahl instead of serving as asst coach under Quinn and after season will either be the rangers coach or will be grabbed by another team as their coach maybe even philly
That's fine, he may not and he's free to turn it down if he wants to. But it would be dumb on our part, I think, to not try to figure out a way to integrate him into this staff at the NHL level as the team is clearly playing well under him. Mika mentioned their different personalities, he could be a good cop contrast to David Quinn's sometimes hardass persona. All coaching staffs need those contrasts. My defensive coordinator in college got off on being an outrageous dickhead, but it worked because our head coach took care of us (he was a hardass with the offense instead). Knoblauch might want to stay at the NHL level and build more name recognition. Quinn is not being fired mid-season, so that's a non-starter. So for the rest of this year, I think it's something JD, JG and CD should explore and then leave it in Knoblauch's court.
