You are correct. If Stotts wanted to use a time out before it expired, he could just take the timeout rather than burning his challenge to take the timeout he could have simply taken. I couldn't believe my ears when Hurd said that.

So you're a prononent of being satisfied with one-night stands instead of pursuing something more serious?

To each his own, I guess.

Since we got Powell and he is better defender than CJ, we could trade CJ for some forward or leave DJJ on the floor and fire CJ from the bench. Instead Stotts gonna do same thing again and again and simply just don't care about D, cos he got another 3point shooter that will solve the problems.
Since our problem is D, not O, this is absolutely stupid.

Extending on your analogy, for the lucky dude or girl or person, it can eventually get old. Not necessarily for everyone, but for some (maybe a lot?), they yearn for something more meaningful. Maybe they're older? Experienced just about everything dating can offer, except for just once, they'd like something that lasts. It doesn't have to last forever. Or even for consecutive years. But special enough it will be permanently etched in the halls of dating or a trophy somewhere and be remembered.

I lean more cynic myself with the organization, but I'm encouraged with how they're playing of late, especially since acquiring Powell and Nurk returning. The defense looks better, actually getting turnovers and challenging shots. CJ and Dame are probably playing the best ball of their careers outside of those occasional in-the-zone games they get. I'm liking this two game version of Nurk better than the earlier year version, and maybe he's more effective with less minutes. It doesn't feel like we have to feed him to keep him engaged. It's not necessary anyway, because the ball movement has been better with less hero ball from Dame and Lillard.

It's just 2-3 games against sub 500 teams, granted, but those teams played better and harder than their record would indicate. Some feel our past playoff success was fools gold, and not necessarily indicative the team has championship potential. I tend to agree, but to me, on paper this current roster looks the most balanced team. If Dame and CJ can find ways to duplicate past playoff performances, they "should" have better contributing help this go-around. As a jaded fan, I just want a little hope and give it a week or two, some convincing wins against the Bucks, Clippers, or Utah, maybe there will be reason for hope. On the bright side, I'm not all that intimidated by the competition this year. IMO, there are no super alphas guaranteed to get the girl or guy or person.

What an amazing performance by CJ. I still don't love it that Dame and him have to take turns but as far as an individual game... wow. He played excellent defense and then had a little bit of CJ Time there at the end. Hats off to the guy.

https://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=401307493<<<<<:) I want to thank the refs for allowing defense to be a factor without their touch fouls. Covington was awesome in this game.. Nurk looked like a sharp dressed man. CJ is landing on one leg and that makes me cringe. Looked like Hood was determined last night.

But Melo can brick 10 shots in a row and play no defense without getting pulled.

Nurk really makes a difference whan he's on the floor. Having a C that can actually alter shots is feeling I had forgotten

How does Melo plays 7 more minutes than DJJ this game.
Melo was laying brick after brick and Jones was balling

So you are saying they will make the playoffs and eventually lose to a better team in a 7 game series.
The probability of this happening is extremely high and yes i agree a large contingent of fans see this.

No question they are better defensively with RoCo, Jones and Nurk on the floor.

Agree. In a world full of evil, to say the person you hate mist is a basketball coach?

There is evil in the world i agree but please see the good parts. The world (In my eyes) is not full of evil or evil people. Most are good and want to be good. My father always said that to me and i try to live by it.

Of course there is much good in the world. My point was a poster saying he hated Stotts more than anyone in the world; even if you think Stotts is a terrible coach, he is a basketball coach, not an axe murderer or baby raper.

Yes, challenges should be based on how many points are at stake, who will get possession of the ball, and the likelihood that it will succeed. In this case up to 3 points were at stake, but it was clearly a foul so it wasn't gonna succeed. Bad challenge. But maybe Stotts didn't have time to see the foul. Timeout situation has almost no bearing.
