I think the thing that is really promising is that Dame has always done really well with focus groups.

I agree that will be interesting. But really only important if we happened to be playing them in the finals.

I think Jrue being the Dame Stopper or some shit is a little overrated. Jrue has almost always had help in the form of constant double teams. He does a better job than most but if he was left to guard Dame by himself he would get torched like the rest of the league. In that last horror show against the Bucks, Dame had 19 points on 13 shots, with 7 assists and 0 turnovers in just 27 minutes because we were getting beat so bad he sat the last two and a half minutes of the third and the entire fourth quarter instead of playing what are on average his most productive eight or nine minutes per game. Dame wasn't on pace to torch the Bucks but he probably would have had around 27 and 10 with reasonable efficiency.

Jrue was actually a bigger problem on O than on D. The guy shot 10 for 14, most of the shots were twos but still that's pretty effective.

I want to know why GTJ averaged 3 more shots per game in our offense than Norm is currently averaging.

Someone get a note to Norm. You gotta be a chucker in a Terry Stotts offense.

Are you including the games that CJ was out with injury?

i want to know whys nurk averaging 8 shots per game, thats ridiculous

at this point, im starting to wonder if the blazers want him to become a role player, rather than legit number three

he avereged 17/10 in the bubble, right know hes averaging 9/7

Maybe because he played a lot of games without CJ? Powell got 13 attempts w/out Dame.

Hes 4th on the team in usage rate, right behind Dame, CJ and Melo.

You do understand what "Minutes Restriction" is? They are only playing Nurk 5 mins a stretch. 8 shots in 20 minutes isn't too bad really.

hes averaging 8 shots per game for 15 games he played this season, not only last three since he came back

hes averaging 22 mpg for 15 games, but thats on him, cause he was out of shape when the season started and to lesser degree due to his injury

    what does "usage rate" mean

is it only shot attempts per game or time with the ball in general, cause he might be 4th in usage rate, but 8 shots is unacceptable

well see when he starts playing around 30 mpg, cause nurk is our best chance of getting that "third piece"

Good point. He was crazy out of shape coming into the season. It was understandable but still this was part of the issue.
I also agree Nurk could absolutely get more usage. Would love to see him get more shots. Dunks preferably.

Not sure how exactly I'm going to get those numbers short of going into those games and adding up his shots (which I'm much too lazy to do.)

Gary played 18 games as a reserve. In those games he averaged 9.3 FGA in 24.7 minutes per game.
Norm has played 2 games with Dame and CJ and has averaged 8 FGA 30.5 minutes per game

So Gary averaged more shots in 6 less minutes per game. :dunno:

If I extrapolate Gary's averages over 30.5 minutes per game, he would have put up 11.48 shots per game. So almost 3.5 more shots per game.

There might be a few nights where Norman Powell gets hot. If that happens and Dame feeds him his shot rate will go up. I'm actually looking forward to the game where a team puts a blanket on Dame and CJ only to have Powell torch them. It's a real possibility. Love to see him drop 30 on some team. I'm sure Dame wants to see it as well.

A two game sample size showing 1 less attempt for a guy who has no chemistry with his new team might be a little early to draw a conclusion.

I agree with you that Norm taking more, quality shots would be a net positive for us. He doesn't appear to have the shoot-at-any-cost mentality GTJ did.
