40 million per year for Jrue. Unbelievable. Guess that McCollum trade is off the table.
 
Wow, if Jrue got 40 per, I wonder what Norman (or Trent) will get?

Also, the league will *have* to increase the salary cap going forward. 3 players can basically make up the entire salary cap now.

cj mccollum is not in the same league as jrue holiday, let alone norm powell and gary trent jr

trent jr will get 4/60-70, powell will get 4/70 or something like that

How do you figure that CJ isn't in the same league?

CJ averages more points (buy a lot), assists are similar (since CJ isnt' a PG, you wouldn't expect his #'s to be as good), he shoots better from the floor (I'm including 3 point % in this argument), similar PER, and averages similar rebounding #s.

Because defense is a thing. Maybe not so much in Portland to some fans and certainly not the coaching staff it seems, but it's still a valued commodity to contending teams.

Blazers have 7th best defense in NBA since Nurk returned. RoCo was right.

jrue holiday is quite possibly the best guard defender in the league, even dame lillard said it

cj mccollum averages more ppg (7 ppg more to be precise), but he also averages 6 shot attempts more per game and holiday is more efficient than cj mccollum, although cj mccollum is better 3-point shooter on much more attempts per game

holiday assists numbers are down, but hes playing with giannis and middleton, who are ball handlers, so it makes sense

to be honest, blazers faced heat who played without butler and dragic, magic who traded vucevic, gordon and fournier, raptors who played without lowry and who lost 10 of their last 11 games before they played against us, pistons who are a tanking team, got well beaten by the bucks and then won against okc, who are another tanking team

i wont say defensive rating in those games is irrelevant, but id rather see the blazers face stronger opponents and see how their defense looks

If he's the best "guard defender" in the league, why are his ratings so bad then? His ORTg for his career is 108. His DEFg? 106.

If that's the best defender...

my point, Jrue is not in a different league compared to CJ

The Defg is pretty damn good for him at 106
 
It would be really nice to see the Magic hold this halftime lead and beat the Nuggets.
Unlikely but it would be a good thing to have happen about now.

Someone needs to get the film of this game to the Blazers. Orlando has Jokic working hard and they have found the key to strip him. He is bringing the ball waist high on his drives to the basket and is moving it side to side.

I'm not watching but I did see a highlight of Ross stripping Jokic and then missing the windmill dunk on the fast break.

Having Nurkic will help. Nurk has the strength and motivation to stop Jokic. He’ll also make Jokic work on the defensive end.

Jokic absolutely abused Kanter in the last meeting.

Yes. Don’t forget Kanter beat Jokic in playoffs though.
