while i feel sorry for the losses of the families, how many of the people who died actually ONLY died from Covid? hardly any.

hell, there are a few people that state that if you get shot and killed, but you were positive from covid, they count it as a covid death. i could go and get killed by a car accident, but if i tested positive for covid, it counts as a covid death.

just like any other illness, it is magnified if you have any underlying health issues. have you heard of any flu deaths at all in the past year? seems as though the flu has been eradicated. but hey, count it as a covid death.

but it didnt keep the covid away? makes so much sense....

texas is completely opened up and have a 73% drop in daily cases since they did. Michigan is on a tyrannical lockdown and they are spiking the worst in the country. the governor of michigan is blaming Desantis and the state of Florida because they arent locked down and it was spring break. i wish i was making that up.

also, businesses didnt shut the doors. tyrannical government mandates did. they killed way too many businesses because they had the notion that if you get covid, it's an automatic death sentence, which it is not.

It did in 3 countries that locked down immediately and followed public safety rules....Taiwan capped it after 7 deaths and is much closer to China than we are...New Zealand and Taiwan have remained open within their borders for over a year becuase of people adapting to safety measures....we're a year and a half in and still seeing mutations and cases...Brazil is losing 4000 people a day....why do you think that is? Because they went to the disco? 4000 customers dying per day isn't a great model for business success either....unless you are a mortician

Obviously the masking, hand-washing and social distancing reduce the spread of all air-borne viruses. The reason flu is down more than Covid is primarily because of Covid-related closures of schools. Unlike Covid-19, children are by far the biggest source of influenza being brought into a household. Another major factor is the restriction of air travel that has reduced flu from being spread between countries.

Michigan is doing so poorly primarily because the B.1.1.7 variant is the dominant strain there now. It spreads much more easily than the original strain. It's starting to trend upwards in Texas too, so we'll see if their downward trend continues. They do have the advantage of warmer weather now, so there's a lot more outdoor social gatherings there and in Florida than in Michigan.

If you can still get covid after getting the shot, how is that protecting others?

I'm not ignoring facts at all. If anything, I'm stating facts. It isn't my fault that you are ignoring them and trying to state your own.

Because 90% of vaccinated people can't get Covid two weeks after finishing their vaccinations. The ones who do get it, get lighter cases that aren't as contagious because the viral load is less.

There's also the fact that vaccinations have been shown to hold up against all of the variants that have been identified so far. That's likely not the case with the immunity gained from having Covid.

Also, why are you automatically assuming that I think its a US government conspiracy? I never once said that.

That still doesn't protect you or anyone from contracting covid. Just because you get the shot, doesn't mean it is killed. You can still get it and you can still spread it.

That is simply not true, as the study I quoted above demonstrated. Your mind appears to be made up so I guess there’s really no point in discussing it further.

    1) it’s proven to be an effective vaccine, reducing extreme illness and deaths significantly
    2) if you can still get it but not get sick and die I think that’s positive but maybe I’m wrong
    3) tyrannical mandates? Guess we know who flies a flag out the back of their big boy truck
    4) “I’m pretty sure I already had it” is literally the butt of jokes now. Made me laugh.

    1. cool. good for the people who have weak immune systems. i dont.
    2. people think that if you get the shot, you wont get it anymore and you will be fine. which is not true at all.
    3. pretty rude of you to assume i do that. i dont own a truck, nor do i fly a flag (i know you mean a Trump flag. no need to sugarcoat it) off of any one of my vehicles. i have nice cars, i dont want some butthurt woke SJW to ruin it cause "OrAnGe MaN bAd".
    4. makes you laugh for people to be sick, huh? cool.

    you're so edgy.

EDIT: i take that back. i own a 91 ford ranger that i use to go to the dump.

I know someone who died in a car accident and was wearing a seat belt. Now that you bring up your sons speech therapist makes me think...fuck seatbelts.

90 percent is not 100 percent so it’s expected that some people who are vaccinated will get Covid. People have differing immune systems. Immunity isn’t an on-off switch, it’s a range. For the vast majority of people, completing the vaccination and waiting period makes them immune to getting either a symptomatic or asymptomatic infection. The lady you know may have been one of the 10%, she may have been exposed before she achieved full immunity, or other unknown factors. I hope the vaccine made her illness less than it would have been otherwise. All of that said, the important thing is in the overall affect of masses of people being immunized and lessening community spread spread so that everyone has less chance of getting sick from Covid.
