I'd wager Norm has much more pull considering his pending FA status. Fingers crossed.

Jones can be a FA too, if he wants. Not as valuable as Powell though

Golden State fans were famously packing their arena even when they sucked throughout the '90s and '00s.

I've always been told the Warriors had a great, but small fan base during the lean years. I have no clue how long these anti-Kerr fans have been watching. I agree with you that firing Kerr would not solve the Warriors issues - though he did make a fairly critical coaching error tonight that cost them the game.

Stotts can make an error when he gets this team a championship.

Since he won't, he can fuck off. And take olshey with him.

Back then though I wonder if it was more of an area with lots of people with an abundance of money to throw around or if they were really hardcore fans

Maybe you should log on there and tell them exactly why it's stupid.

Well according to many on here Stotts never wins a game it's all because of Lillard.

This is another questionable statement. Obviously The Blazers have been injury riddled and were without some of their very best players.
The obvious reaction is "Yeah but those players were nowhere near as talented as Durant, Klay, Curry". Of course that can't be said either because you are saying Kerr won those Ships, not the multiple MVP's or All Stars he had on his roster.

The Golden State Warriors have been in San Fran and or Oakland since 1962. Have you ever heard of a guy named Wilt Chamberlain? How about Rick Barry, Joe Fulks? Nate Thurmond? How about Chris Mullen?
They have even had a bunch of the very same coaches Portland has had PJ. Carlisimo, Rick Adleman, Mike Dunleavy, Heck even Dave Twaedzik.
Yeah they had a tough time for a number of year in the 2000's but what team doesn't go through those?
Saying they didn't have a fanbase 10 years ago? Really?

You must have known these statements would get blasted when you said them? So what gives? Why go there? Their fan base is now seeing a coach struggle because of injuries and a tough schedule playing through a pandemic. He is human like everyone else. He makes mistakes. Good calls and bad calls. Last night was atrocious. That doesn't make him a bad coach. I feel Steve Kerr is a great coach as well but everyone knows he inherited possibly the best situation a coach could ask for and then added another Finals MVP to win his titles. Now is when he has to prove he is a great coach. Do it when things are tough. Heck with Curry, Draymond, Obre, Wiggins he might not make the playoffs. Shouldn't they be at least beating bad teams? Not even saying they should beat all the best teams. Just beat all the teams under .500. He isn't doing that with the greatest shooter in the history of the game. Can you say "wasting his prime"?

It was mostly working class Oakland residents. In fact, their move to Chase Center in San Francisco was controversial because it priced out a lot of their long-time fans who attended their games before they became a big winner.

    Cool.

Well, since we have ONLY had Stotts this entire time, I guess we'll never know, will we? Unless they fire him. Would the Warriors have won all those titles with Mark Jackson?

So maybe Curry was never as good as we thought either? He hasn't been able to elevate his team. Why do you think that is? Is it Kerr?

Interesting... where did I say they didn't have any fanbase? I said MOST of their fanbase didn't exist 10 years ago. MOST being the operative word. You should really pay attention to the WHOLE sentence before getting all riled up. I'm sure the Warriors had fans through all their crap years in the 90s and early 2000s. But when they became the flavor of the month during their initial run and then the Durant years, they became arguably the most popular team in the league. Guess what happens when you become the most popular team in the league with one of the most popular players in the league? That's RIGHT boys and girls! Your fanbase grooooooooooooooooooooooooooooows. If you REALLY think that their numbers didn't expand drastically in those years, well........ I don't know. So I stand by my statement. MOST of that fanbase didn't exist 10 years ago.

Walton & Brown won titles Mark Jackson with the same team sure would have, imo.

What.... I linked several sources to back me up. Just because the data doesn't back up your point doesn't mean it's weak.

Ok, I guess I need to break this down to simple math for you because you're clearly not getting it.

If the Warriors had 100,000 fans before the title run (I'm making up a number) and after they won their first title they now have 4-5 million fans from all over the world, would you say that MOST of the fans weren't there before?

I think the main problem with your theory is, while possible, it could be 100% false.

You'd have to compare total fans who post on twitter, how old they are, how long they've been fans etc. So many assumptions are being made.
