(source: https://www.nba.com/longest-gap-between-finals-appearances) These are finals appearance pre-2000 1 Atlanta: Never 2 Charlotte H: Never (as both franchises). 3 Chicago: 98 4 Nuggets: Never 5 Rockets: 95 6 Clippers: Never 7 Memphis: Never 8 Bucks: 74 9 Twolves: never 10 Pelicans: never 11 Knicks: 99 12 Suns: 93 13 Blazers: 92 14 Kings: Never 15 Jazz: 98 16 Wizards: 79 As much as we complain about how middle of the road the Blazers are, imagine being a fan of a team that hasn't seen the finals in 42 years, or 47 years, or the 8 franchises that have never been to the finals (in their current cities)?
And most of those teams will never see a finals or win a championship because of how the NBA is set up. I just want to see the Blazers win 1 championship during my time. Just 1.
