No. He's not. Maybe he was at one point, but he's not now. He's trash on defense. He's not a passer. He's not a good shooter. He's a horrible rebounder for his size. Here are his numbers in San Antonio. 13.7 ppg off 46% from the field and 36% from three. 4.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.9 blocks in 26 minutes per game.
LMA is going to be an absolute target in the playoffs. He has led legs and the p&r will neutralize him. I think he’ll be unplayable.
through 4 games: 13 pts 50% shooting 1 3 a game 5 boards 2 blks blocking shots and hitting 3s? Man that’d be nice
I still remember the Houston fist two playoff games. LMA was automatic. Enjoy retirement and thank you
Someone already brought up the question as to whether Portland might sign him to a 10-day contract next year and have him retire as a Blazer.
Fuck that. He chose his path, he wanted to play "close to home" and so he did. Let him retire as a "hometown boy".
I will never be interested in the franchise celebrating him. The way he quit on the team in that Memphis series was so, so bad.
He isn't dead and this isn't cutting his career massively short. The guy is on the way out. If it wasn't this, it would be a knee or his back or his feet or something else. Players retire. He's not really young at this point. This isn't sad. I'm glad he's not going to help them win the title.
