Oh yeah, Tom Cotton. Well known voice of reason. Saying "you're next" after a cop is found guilty in a court, without anyone laying a hand on him is "inciting violence"?

Here's the Body Cam footage. Not much time but to react.

When you find yourself in that situation you have a splint second to react. His primary concern was protecting the victim and neutralizing the situation. The idea that it was racially driven is an incredible stretch.

We should all take the 1/10 of a second that the officer had to react as a moment of silence.

Why isn't his primary concern ensuring that NOBODY gets killed? Again, she's a kid. She's not a hardened criminal. He shouldn't even have had his gun out. Knife crime is a bigger deal in the UK than here (because - no guns!) but the cops don't go around shooting people who have knives.

...if you ignore the entire history of this country and the fact that Kyle Rittenhouse WAS CARRYING A FUCKING ASSAULT RIFLE and ACTUALLY KILLED TWO PEOPLE and wasn't shot.

Sure, and if the cop allowed her to stab and possibly kill the other girl then people would screaming that the officer wasn't doing his job and should have intervened. What about the hundreds of white people who are killed by cops every year? Why aren't those analyzed and talked about?

As far as Rittenhouse, while I don't condone the situation, to use him as an equivalent example is pretty dishonest. Whether you agree with him firing or not, the people he shot were threatening and swarming him.

I'm not sure the article you linked applies. A few things stand out that make them very different situations.

"Certainly a Taser is an option that's available to the officers," said Dotson. "But Tasers aren't 100 percent. So you've got an individual with a knife who's moving towards you, not listening to any verbal commands, continues, says, 'shoot me now, kill me now.' Tasers aren't 100 percent. if that Taser misses, that [individual] continues on and hurts an officer...In a lethal situation, they used lethal force."

    ...

In this video, a man with a large machete is standing outside Buckingham Palace. The police carefully gage their distance, then shoot him with a Taser gun. The confrontation ends almost instantaneously as the man drops the knife when his body begins to convulse:

In this video, a knife wielding man who appears to have serious mental health issues is surrounded by dozens of police officers. He goes after them, but the police avoid danger by (shock) moving out of the way:

At some point you're going to get a white cop who freezes up during this moment and just let's a person get stabbed because they don't want life in prison or a celebrity to call for their death.

I'm laughing at your comment. Which epitomizes where our society is right now.

Are you telling me that you believe the ONLY POSSIBLE WAY of dealing with that situation was to shoot her? What if it didn't stop her and she stabbed the other kid anyway? What if you hit the other kid (surely a BIG risk)?

I think when you get to the point where you think shooting children is a reasonable solution to a problem, your society is fucked.

No, I'm not telling you that at all. I'm saying that in watching the video of what happened and how it happened I do not believe this was police misconduct, police abuse, racial profiling, or any of the serious problems so many of us are concerned about.
