It’s crazy how much better we are when we run things through Nurk (and Nurk is at his best when he’s involved) yet it isn’t a staple of Stotts’ offense. We only saw it for the first time last week. Wtf?
We saw it more when we first acquired Nurk. I have been screaming at the top of my lungs to run the offense through Nurk for YEARS. As it works in one game, we go away for it the next four or five. Stotts either has short term memory loss or he's afraid to cross his guards and take the ball out of their hands more.
but several posters have said, over and over, that there has to be a replacement lined up before the current one is fired
IMO Olshey is going to hire the person who says they can do more with the roster we have now. Olshey has a big ego and will go with the candidate that strokes it the most.
This is a quality list, and sorted in order, too. I'll order the top of each category. Wrap up Charles Lee and Kenny Atkinson and I'll pick it up today.
Unemployed head coaches market themselves with exposure as color commentators. But this often backfires, since they talk like unimpressive morons. Boring Mark Jackson is unemployed because the moral bully harangues listeners with long sermons, instead of an X and O technician. You got to do this, you got to do that.
Huh? The logic that a guy would suck as a head coach because hes coached for 7 years and hasn't been hired as one is strange.
Where did I say he would suck? I simply mentioned that he's been a prospect for a while and hadn't got a break through as yet. I also mentioned I like the idea. Your quick logic in responding to my was way off.
As a more under the radar move, I'd look at Anthony Grant. (2990) Why Dayton is the Hardest Team to Guard in the Country - YouTube (2990) Anthony Grant talks Obi Toppin and Dayton's win at Saint Louis | Inside College Basketball - YouTube Anthony Grant Coaching Record | College Basketball at Sports-Reference.com Coaching at his alma mater though so likely his dream job and might be hard to pull him away.
I agree with that and he's prob my #1 candidate. Personally, I feel he should have been given an opportunity way before now. Hell, Id like to see Jim Moran get a HC job soon. I think he has the right stuff too.
I liked Udoka when he was here, and I like that he's spent so much time in the best-run franchise in the league. He was a role player who cut his teeth on defense and shooting threes and fitting in next to a star guard (Brandon Roy). Sign me up for that. Hammond would be my next pick. As for Mark Jackson--jesus, have you listened to that guy during games? He has the same 4 or 5 cliches and that's about it. I can't imagine players listening to that shit for more than a season before completely tuning him out. I wouldn't work for him, and I can't imagine pro athletes want to either.
