    First off I do not want to trade Dame but if we can’t make some drastic improvements and Dame was open to it the 4 picks from them plus young player would be awfully enticing. At some point if we can’t put enough around him might be best to give him an out because ri doubt he request one

    At some point if you can’t put enough talent around then he deserves better and the franchise would have 4 1st rounders so it works for both parties. Again Dame is my favorite player but......

    Deserves better and new York Knicks doesn't exactly go together.

    The Knicks could offer their entire franchise PLUS those four picks and I'd still laugh them off the phone.

    How about this.... We'll offer them a lower version of Dame in CJ. We'll even knock the price down a bit.

    CJ -> Knicks 1st (~20), Dallas 1st (~22), & Large TPE

    That is even a bit of a discount compared to what we paid for RoCo (#17 & ~#21)

    If Damian Lillard goes to New York a bunch of other players will want to go there also and the 4 Picks would be very late picks. No?

    One thing I think would happen for Dame is he would get credit for building a great team and might even get an MVP trophy?

    how about this alternative: Portland hire's a GM that can build a great team around Dame and win him a ring. The one they have has had 9 years and hasn't come close

    You do understand the difference between Madison Square Garden and the Moda Center right? A GM in Portland needs to work a little differently than in New York.
    Now as far as getting a better GM than Neil Olshey? I'm all for it.

    Side Note- I wonder what kind of team Neil Olshey could build in New York?

    CJ to the Knicks in a 3 team trade does make sense where those picks and a young player or two goes to the new team and someone from that team comes back to us. Having the big TPE is nice but it limits the amount coming back in a trade to the TPE whereas if it's in the same trade as CJ we can go 25% over that number.

    Portland will be well into the tax. There's no way that the owners will be willing to bring more salary back than CJ going out

    I might do it for Quickley, Julius, and 3 firsts. They wouldn’t so no trade.

    They might have just been lying but Olshey has said multiple times they know they are going to be in the tax next year which is why they're staying under this year.
