Do you think we got enough for the best big man in the league?

I think it was the best possible offer we could get, and after all the talks, we had to let the big ticket go.

If I were a T-Wolves fan, I would be furious.

I can't believe Kevin McHale was left in charge long enough to even be allowed to make this deal.

He really did the franchise a disservice by not building properly around a true franchise player.

Those don't come along very often and it's a shame to waste the opportunity.

The only two players Minny got that will be good in this league are Big Al and Gomes. I don't like Green that much except his dunks.

On another note, there's talk that Minny will buy out Gomes' contract and he'll be back in Boston again. Who knows.

It was easily the best available offer and Jefferson should be a more than serviceable player immediately, and will probably be the future of the franchise. The two picks were huge for me, especially after McHale traded so many away.

No link, just a rumor. They have 17 players on the roster right now and they have to make some cuts so it could be Gomes. Was probably sent in the trade for matching the salaries.

Hudson is gone, so that makes 16, I hear Telfair is gone too. Gomes' contract I believe was the smallest on the Celtics. If the Celtics wanted to keep Gomes, he wouldn't have been in the deal.

tim, Gomes may have been in the deal to increase Garnett's trade kicker and give him more money.

Maybe but I don't see why the Wolves would just give him up now

That's what I don't understand either. They say they wanted to keep him.

How about Wright? He's a FA right?

    Tim Duncan?

The rings are what pushes Duncan in front of KG in a lot of peoples eyes. IMO KG is much better, more skilled, even though Timmy is called the fundemental. KG never had the supporting cast that Duncan has. Just think for a minute, for one year he had Sprewell and the Alien (Cassell) and went to the WCF. With the Wolves. Can't wait to see what he does with two stars on his side, or as he said it "two big guns". I like another quote by Allen, for the opposing teams that will play the Celtics, "Pick your poison", as in double team one and the other one will kill you (beat you lol).

Disregarding the small matter of those rings, what about Duncan's defense?

He's the best defensive player I've ever seen.

I like this trade for the Wolves.

The get cap relief, a very good young big, two first round picks and a couple of players they could either buyout or keep.

    Garnett - 5 All-Defense first teams, 3 All-NBA first teams.

    Duncan - 7 and 9

Both legendary players. One went to a well-run organization where they care about winning and built a four time champion around him. One went to Minnesota where some fans think they got a good deal by getting Al Jefferson and cap space for him after not even reaching the finals and winning two playoff series in 12 seasons.

This is a great trade for both teams because Minnesota is getting a stud in Gomes and two possible future all-stars in Al Jefferson and Gerald Green. Gerald Green should be the foundation of the youth in Minny. If you guys develop Gerald Green and start him he will be a tremendous player. I'm telling you guys Gerald is the future he needs to finally play in Minnesota. If he starts he will be a 26/4/2 in a few years. Trust.
