At $1.4B recent valuation, the $1.5B likely sale price isn't as much over team worth as I expected. But, it is a pretty significant amount over still, at a time when teams are struggling with crowd restrictions and Chinese dollars. I don't see how anyone could label that a fantastic investment, unless anything slightly below average and up is also fantastic?

Also, being within $100M of the bottom of the barrel means Minny will lag behind league-wide trends if values do shoot up. And I do question whether the league has already seen its best days from a profit standpoint, after the big TV deals in '16. Here's more perspective on the recent franchise values:

Where's the next big boost come from to sustain that growth? Until the past decade, pro franchises were basically a shiny toy for uber rich folks, not an investment. That's a risky ship to jump on after the big growth has already taken place.

 

At this point they're just trying to extend his career artificially. He'll be unofficial assistant coach for Miami in perpetuity and they'll let him come in and start a fight once a season.

I just watched that last preseason game and i'm gonna change my prediction again if that is okay with you?
This team will be very luck to be playing .500 ball at the 20 game mark. That would put them at 10-10.
Then they will start to get things working a bit better and they will go 32-20 the rest of the way.
Prediction 42-30. Hoping that gets them into the playoffs?
The team will have 10 missed games and i think they could start very quickly?
League wide there will be a total of 12 games postponed/cancelled

If Clippers lose then Denver move to the 3rd spot. If that happens, Denver need to win their game against us to keep the 3rd spot. If the Clippers are the 4th seed maybe Dallas will tank to be at 6th lol. Just Crazy

 

Thing is, it looks like LAC wants the 4-seed - and there's nothing Denver can do to keep them from doing it. This could work out how we wanted after all!

 

Yeah, if the Lakers win tomorrow, Sunday is going to be really interesting... especially if the Rockets hold onto this quickly depleting lead.

Yeah, if the Lakers win tomorrow and the Clippers win on Sunday but I think the Clips and Mavs look like they're cool with facing each other and the Clippers have control as far as if they want to tank for that 4th spot. A lot of moving pieces, pretty crazy.

 

That’s assuming the Clippers beat the Thunder. There’s a good chance that they rest George and Leonard again to set up a 4-5 matchup with Dallas. In that case a Clippers loss & Nuggets loss keeps the brackets as they are right now with Clips/Mavs and Blazers/Nugz

 

The Clippers gonna go hardcore Tank against OKC to make sure they stay at 4
