So, who has a better showing in this first round playoff series, Nikola Jokic, the current MVP favorite, or the Blazers' early-season MVP challenger, Damian Lillard?
not real sure, but I think part of Portland strategy will be to let Jokic get his but keep the others in check. I feel with Powell we could get Jokic in foul trouble as he like to reach and slap. Should send ROCO to the hoop too.
I kind of doubt either will be consistently "dominant". But the Nuggets appear to have nobody who can guard Dame and he could really take advantage of that. And if there was any team with a reason to worry about CJ enough to relieve the usual defensive pressure on Dame, it's Denver
Damian Lillard totally rested and ready to go could have the more dominant series but the real question is will he have to? Portland has other options and unless things get tough I would hope Lillard plays smart and lets the team win the games. This has a lot to do with coaching as well.
I think Jokic is gonna average a triple double. Lillard tends to fade in playoffs. Of course now if he cannot put great numbers against Campazzo then this will be a big hit on his reputation.
