Some of it. Again, I'd rather incentivize companies to find alternatives, rather than carbon tax them to death. Also, to me, 2030 is rather aggressive.

    Some Dems agree.

But the Carbon Fee (actually Green House Gas) and Dividend IS the incentive for individuals. Companies don't have to pay it, they just pass cost along to the price of the end product. This encourages individual consumers to make choices which use fewer green house gasses.

The dividend is then distributed progressively to prevent the middle class and poor from being hurt financially by the transition.

The wealthy will not be impacted, other than shifting their business model to meet the increased consumer demand for more greenhouse friendly alternatives.

We desperately need to upgrade the electrical grid. Not sure why that is considered part of the GND because the there are serious security and efficiency issues with the current grid.

Dude, seriously. Look at the terror the Colonial pipeline caused on the east coast. If hackers were ever to take portions of our utilities for ransom it would be chaos.

It's probably genetic. His old man was a serial killer, after all.

Yes. And bury it ALL in huge conduit that all utilities can use. Get rid of all powerlines.

The Holy Trinity. Yeah, I actually went to a service with my grandparents because they wanted my kids to go to Sunday School. Which I was fine with. They can make their own decisions on religion. And I often helped my grandfather keep their tractors running to mow their huge lot, so we were familiar with the church.

So while they were at their first Sunday School session the wife and I were taking in the sermon about the Holy Trinity and about how understanding the Holy Trinity would help you become a more moral person and help you resist temptation, etc.

Two years later that minister was fired for having an affair with one of the flock who worked in the office part time.

The general consensus among the volunteers who kept up the lawn (mostly retired old men) was that we poor men have so much temptation from all these women throwing themselves at us that we just don't have a chance.

    Good times.

This happened to me at the VA. They gave me a new doctor to do my eye surgery and now I am blind in that eye.

The founders were indeed career politicians. Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson served their country while over in Europe before working on our Constitution.

At any rate, it's not a perfect science. Do we need to do something? Absolutely. Is it in the form of the Green New Deal? I suppose the jury's still out.

    To wit:

Yeah, I don't think the GND actually does much with a Carbon fee and dividend.

The carbon fee and dividend would be the #1 best way to get things done, but there just isn't enough support because our politicians are bought and paid for by corporations who do not want to change.

I don't have any idea about the person you've linked us to.
I'm going to have to say that the green new deal sounds like a good deal to me although it's really a bit too late. We already see the damage that the new environment is inflicting on us.

Please, Lanny, you've never heard of John Stossel? He's been around for decades. Formerly from 20/20 fame.

I've never cared for him nor did I recognize that it was him you were referring to.
