I was expecting an amazing movie from Zach Snyder after the epic that was his Justice League Cut. I am very disappointed in what had the makings of a bad ass movie, but was left wanting due to plot holes, a flimsy story, a poor cast, and bad cinematography. Here are my gripes. There are several spoilers. Spoiler The daughter story line seemed pointless and detracted from the movie. She ended up getting everyone killed including her dad and the lady she was trying to save in the first place. Why lie to them and send them after a safe when you want a Zombie head. Just tell them, get me a zombie head and I'll pay you. Tanaka didn't know/tell them the code to his safe? The badass chick fights her way through scores of zombies, is locked out by the traitor dude, fights more zombies, busts through a window next to her group and doesn't tell them about the traitor and they just let her die instead of helping her? Why didn't the guy just leave when he got the zombie head? Why did he go down into the casino? Just go back out the so called secret entrance to Vegas they came in. Dude makes a big deal about his saw and never uses it. It does get used when they get locked in. However, instead of cutting through the lock in the grate, they cut through a very thick concrete wall? Is Tanaka trying to get the zombie ahead on behalf of the military? If so, why didn't the Military just do it? They make a big deal about rain waking zombies and it never rains (not even sprinklers) There are smart zombies and dumb zombies...two groups of different kind of zombies? Yet, they all come from the super zombie from the beginning who was by the way part of some government project that is never explained. Zombies can get it on? The plot line is steal money and save some ladies. None of which end up happening and everyone dies so what's the point? Well, the saw dude somehow manages to break out of a safe and walks off with the money, charters a flight, and then turns into a zombie, hours after getting bit, when everyone else turns almost immediately. Why do they have people living right on the otherside of a wall of a zombie infested city? What was with the camera focus going in and out? Why didn't Tanaka get his? I did like Tig Notaros character. She was one of the best things about the movie. The comic relief and she dies too...wtf? I thought a better more well known cast would have been nice. I expected one with Snyder directing. It's Vegas. Where was all the vibrant colors and neon? Why wasn't the casino setting used more. Have them bust a zombies head into a slot machine, have it rain out money, and then them say, "Jackpot!" Or some shit. Where was the fun?
It thought it was going to be oceans 11 with Zombies. Not even close. It became so convoluted with different unrealized plot lines that it fell in on itself.
