He was trying to, where he matched nurk with jokic. It's not Terry's fault that nurk can't help himself from committing stupid fouls. No, he didn't add little in the rotation, but he did make a change to our rotation after realizing Kanter wasn't going to cut it.

the change came too late (should have been after Game 1). We lost game 3 strictly because of how stubborn he was in continually playing Enes. And going to RHJ over Jones/Little is just as unforgivable as going to Kanter in the first place I think.

Roco should come out earlier for either Little/Jones. Then return in the second as a backup C when Nurk/Jokic sit.

Yep, that's my bad, I misremembered the games. Was thinking he made the switch game 3.

This. Kanter is a good backup. He has to play starter minutes because Nurkic plays at 10% of his potential.

    Nurk is mentally weak.

You’ll get a few monster games sprinkled in with a bunch of mediocre performances from Nurk.

Nurk with his injury history and iffy mental toughness — NURK IS THE BACKUP.

    We need a starting center.

Hate to say it, but probably Meyers would've been more helpful than Kanter. At least his three point shooting would've pulled Jokic out and he's big enough to bang with Jokic. If only he hadn't canceled himself...

His 6th foul was unforgivably stupid, this guy has to be the one of the most stupid players in the league.

Nurkic attempts half of his rebounds and passes with one hand. So he fails to complete easy ones. He's lazy, not stylish as he intends.

Kanter is an above-average backup center. If he played the usual small minutes for a backup, he'd be a fine backup. But since he must bail out Nurkic season after season, our backup gets judged by starter standards.

So Nurk is clearly better than Kanter, but you think Kanter deserves more praise? Got it.

It’s almost as if I’m factoring that in when I said “and use Covington / RHJ as the help man”. Because using RHJ/Covington and Melo as the help man was pathetically bad.

We’re losing this series because our pathetic defense, particularly 3pt defense, not because of our bench.

The stats also back it up. When we defend the 3pt *decently* we win, when we dont, we lose. Most of the 3pt breakdowns start and end with Damian / CJ giving up dribble drives.

Huh? I didn't compare them at all. But since you asked...

Nurkic has double Kanter's potential, but plays at 50% potential while Kanter plays at 100% (as a starter--since Nurkic returned, Kanter has declined per minute). So they have equal effects on the game, per minute (as starters).

Get a yelling head coach with a non-Stotts, conventional system, and Nurkic might play to his potential.

100% this. Bad interior defense is often times the result of shitty perimeter defense. If the perimeter is soft and penetration is easy, the bigs have no chance. Kanter isnt a good defender. But to make things worse, he plays behind damian, cj, simons, etc. Keep your man in front of you (more often), make them go to their weak hand, anything, just show some resistance so Kanter and Nurk dont have to help 500 times a game.
