I'd put Buchnevich first. Strome second. Jones third. Still think we can bring over Holloway and McLeod from the desperate Oilers. After the expansion draft send them Buchnevich, Jones and Georgiev for those two guys and their first rounder. The Oilers have to bring in win now guys. Guys that can help them get to the next level. They can't wait 3 years for Holloway. Or hope McLeod works out. Buchnevich will command too much money and I have no interest in paying him. Both the Oilers goalies are old and they suck. Smith's numbers this year were a fluke. He proved that in the playoffs. The time to sell high on Buchnevich is now. Holloway will add a much needed center to the organization.
Yea that was a big miss with Graves. Adds offense, has a big shot and gets 100+ hits and blocks. Goroton really screwed up on that kid. TFG he’s gone
I was touting Graves for years but that dumb bastard AV only wanted small, puck moving defenseman and Gorton spread his asscheeks for him. Retards on HF kissed AV's ass like he was this great coach. He's not. Buchnevich should absolutely be used to bring in a top faceoff center here. I have a feeing Horvat will be the target. Though, I'm not sure a Strome, Lundkvist deal for Horvat won't be what gets it done. The Caschmucks suck unbelievably bad on defense. Especially the right side. You might see Buchnevich and Jones go in a Holloway type of deal with a first coming back. Edmonton needs to stop playing their top 2 forwards who are centers on the same line. It's not working. They do so because their wings suck ass. Detroit. They are just hopeless.
Something I just thought of. Maybe going all in for Matthew Tkachuk. Something like Buchnevich, Kravtsov and Lundkvist for Tkachuk and Lucic at half retained. It's ton to give up but he's exactly what we are lacking up front. Calgary's defenseman suck also and they need a young, PP QB on defense that can play defense as well. I look at that team and they need to break it down.
I laugh everytime I go to HF and the Rangers boards. Those stupid bastards don't even know anything about our own prospects. I was thinking we might need a 4th line center. Then I saw Richards play in his only NHL game. That was enough. Guy is what we need. He's fast. Plays north-south. Shoots when he has a shot available. He was the best defensive forward in college. He's suppose to be top notch in the dot. I can see him immediately being a Drury favorite. I'd love to get McLeod out of Edmonton. Great size. Superb defensively. Tremendous speed. Good in the dot. Edmonton is going to be in full panic mode. Time to get that kid before they catch on. Richards and McLeod has the makings of a top 4th line for a long time.
Buch is an RFA, have to sign him to trade him or at least make opening offer. Hajek, Chytil, Shesty, Gauthier, Howden and DiGi are RFAs too.
Sounds like Quinn is going to be hired in Buffalo which could make things interesting in our trade plans.
I don't think Eichel is in the plans. Cozens was a guy the Rangers liked a lot. I don't see the teams as a match in most areas. Reinhart is to me a much better wing than Buchnevich but he just plays on a crap team. Unless players are traded for picks, the few pieces they have they probably don't want to trade. After the expansion draft I could see them parting with one of both of their two second round picks to add depth. Blackwell, Rooney, Howden, Jones and Reunanen have no future with this team. All of them should be moved. Strome and Buchnevich don't bring to the team what they lack and should be moved as well. Kravtsov can go either way. Like I said, I'd love to get O'Reilly, Horvat or Larkin here. Dvorak is also a guy I'd like to try and steal and have for 2 years. He's on a good contract and he's good in the dot. On a better offensive team he would flourish. He would also make Strome expendable. His cost to acquire would be much less.
Any of those guys would be nice, but i just don't think Larkin or even Horvat will be traded right now. O'Reilly could maybe be had. Dvorak is underrated. Still think Monahan will be targeted.
I can easily see Hovat being traded. Vancouver is terrible on defense and they have almost nothing coming from the farm. They have Miller and Pettersson down the middle. When you have nothing but crap on defense, drastic moves need to be made. Guys like Reunanen and Jones despite being smaller would be huge upgrades for them. A guy like Skinner would be a nice piece for them to develop. Their wings also suck and they have little depth. Vancouver is in serious trouble. They need to rebuild. That team is a disaster. The Oilers are built wrong as well. Another team that should be hard up with trades.
I think there is a big opening for a substantial deal with the Av's involving Kadri if they are interested. I also would not be opposed to getting Graves back who they are going to lose to the Kraken. That means we would have to deal Hajek though as he would probably be claimed. Getting my draft guide, I have no problem with them trading their first this year for a player we need to become more of a playoff team. This draft IMO is underwhelming to say the least on paper.
If the Rangers keep their pick I can see them trying to move up with Vancouver to pick number 9. Horvat and the 9th for Strome, Lundkvist and Jones. Then take Sillinger. I'm good with that. Though Lundkvist and Hughes would make a lethal PP combo in Vancouver, Hughes is horrific defensively and Horvat would give us a top faceoff guy. Sillinger is the type of player we need. Tough, strong, shoot first player.
Looka like the Eichel thing will come down to us or Anaheim, though I'm not really sure why the Ducks are that interested given where they are.
Not sure with his injury if he's worth the risk. The Ducks are horrible. They aren't building around Eichel. I would think Schneider, Miller, Robertson, Kakko, Fox, Lindgren and Lafreniere would be off limits. I suspect players like Buchnevich, Zibanejad, Lundkvist, Georgiev and Strome would be available. I hope Chytil isn't. He's going to be cheap for a while.
I still think if you offer Buchnevich, Strome, Jones and Lundkvist for Eichel and their two highest second rounders, I make that deal. Of that group I don't think any of them factor in huge here down the line. Lundkvist would but we need a Schneider more than a Lundkvist.
I think Jones, Strome, Kravtsov and 1st this year was the offer that Sabres declined earlier in the year. I read somewhere that nobody offered Sabres as much as this package, and Sabres are considering it. Rangers want more info on Eichel's health. I don't remember where I read it.
