Well his agent likes to play hard ball and pretty good chance he might be gone.

Stotts showed what he thought of Nurk by not protesting that "foul" on Jokic' 3 flail.

Because it was a foul. Nurk should be careful, or he can find himself in Sacramento. if he wants to be involved, play with more motivation, jump for the rebound, don't make stupid fouls, go up strong, don't let your opponent cook you for 5 of 6 games.

If you heard the post-game Stotts said his replay assistant said he didn't think it would get overturned and that Nurk said to Stotts "I barely touched him."

Nurk has a history of asking for challenges that we lose. When you tell a coach to challenge a foul and say "I barely touched him." it would've been foolish to challenge.

So yes it appears Stotts doesn't trust Nurk when it comes to fouls and I think that lack of trust has been earned, don't you?

I like Nurks physical abilities, but he makes a ton of head scratching decisions on both ends. Look at the few times he had the ball in his hands for an extended time tonight, the outcome wasn't typically very good.

I think Nurk needs to prove he can master a more simplified role before he's given the keys to any offense.

Seriously. Before he asks for a bigger role, how about he learns to consistently his a 15 foot jumper?

So he just wants to negotiate for higher salary i guess. The guy that cannot stay healthy or stop fouling out. Smh 12 is way too much for what he has given us but since we don't have space just guarantee his sorry ass and wait to see when he gets reinjured or redestroyed by Jokic.

Maybe we can ask them to give us their arena too since we are at it Sabonis is better than all our 3 players combined.

im glad nurk finally spoke up (he did gave hints in the past, but he was very direct this time), whatever happens next, it cant be any worse for his career, it can only get better from now on

hopefully nurk reaches his full potential, whether that happens with portland trail blazers or some other team, cause that motherfucker terry stotts really diminished him

that was nurks way of saying "fuck you" to terry stotts and im so happy about it!

I think that this could be not the contract thing. IMO he is just frustrated and this showed on the court. He is between playing good for Blazers and hating his coach.
It must be really hard to play in this team "culture" with Terry's sons doing whatever they want.

Yeah, Blazers control his fate next yr so you may be correct. His 4th yr of this deal is controlled by the TEAM from everything I have seem - Blazers need to renew/guarantee contract by July 1, if not and they ley him go (hugely unlikely) he's guaranteed 4 mil

Stotts did make a number of challenges that didn't seem to have any chance of overturning the call on the floor, though. There was one recently that worked even though it looked like it should have remained a foul. All the others were upheld.

Looks like we need a new replay assistant, too.

We need Nurk, but hes talking a bit much for a guy who has missed as many games as he has.

What's funny is, and Nurkic should ask himself first, is he really capable of more? Does he have the skillset to do more? When you watched him in this series, was there a Moment when you said Nurk is being held back i wish he could do more? That's not what i saw. Nurk played in 3 playoff series, actually 4 because he played in one game in 2017 against the Warriors, and we lost all 4 series with him, against the Warriors, Pelicans, Lakers and the Nuggets. Nurk is 3:13 in his Playoff Career. That's tough man

there was a time when jokic took over in denver and nurk wanted out cause he knew he could start elsewhere and he was right

now nurk wants a bigger role cause he believes he can do more and feels like he was underutilized (which he was) and time will tell if hes was right (if he gets bigger role)

nurk is one of the most skilled centers in the nba, one of the few that are "two-way" centers and the only reason nurk isnt already an all-star level player is cause the injuries have slowed him down, but if he stays healthy and if they give him a bigger role, he will reach that level for sure... nurk did the right thing for himself, in worst case scenario, nothing will change and he will have the same role he has now (with portland or some other team) and in best case scenario, he will get a bigger role (with portland or some other team) and im really happy nurk said it, hes not a fucking role player

In what specific way do you feel he was underutilized?

no enough shots, no post ups, no enough pnr (which is blazers best offense), no consistency in using him as a playmaker

nurk is at his best when he plays all-around game on the offensive end (scoring at low post, scoring out of pnr, ocassionaly shooting from the mid range, making plays, setting screens and now hes developing 3-pointer), so you have a guy who can do multiple things on offense and you dont diminish a player like that to set screens, do hand offs and occasionally get to score out of pnr

terry stotts system is perimeter heavy orientated and therefore nurk is not an important factor offensively and thats whys nurk pissed at terry stotts and dont want to play for him again and even stotts said were a "3-point" shooting team and he usually says about nurk: "hell get his opportunities", meaning hes not one of key players on offense

nurk himself said hes 4th or 5th option on this team and he clearly believes he should be third option and that he shouldnt average much less shots than cj mccollum and on some given nights, he could be 1st or 2nd option if he gets it going

how many times we saw nurk killing it on the offensive end and than we go away from him, cause other players need to get their quota of shots
