I'm almost certain he would never do that (which is something I don't think I'd say for any other player - even Tim Duncan considered leaving the Spurs), but say he did. He promises not to go public with it and give the front office significant leeway, but would rather go to a contender. Post the trade you would be least un-okay with.

I would send him to the highest bidder, contender or not.

Preferably somewhere like the Kings or Pistons for a billion draft picks.

Any trade outside of Luka Doncic would not be ok with me. Period. Lakers could offer Anthony Davis and I’d say no.

and I don’t want a bunch of young role players.

    Never to the Lakers

Im ok with any team in the East.

If I had to watch Dame play in another uniform - let it be New York Knicks - the Garden would be resurrected. And NY had a couple youngsters that are attractive if we are to rebuild.

They can trade him when he retires

I've said this a few times before, but:

People like to shit on Ben Simmons because he doesn't shoot, but he's an all-world defender and one of the league's unicorns. Basically he's a much taller combination of Andre Iguodala and Jason Kidd. Imagine the running we could do. Imagine what this would do for people like Anfernee. And Derrick Jones might become useful again!

Meanwhile Dame and Embiid are the ultimate inside/outside combo.

Technically I don't think they can.

    Hard pass.
Simmons can’t get it done with Embiid, what makes you think he can get it done without a top 3 player.

I’d want Embiid but he’s injury prone, so no.

Yeah, Simmons on this team (sans Damon) is a mediocre team

The best thing about Simmons is that he has 4 years left on his deal, which makes him a prime candidate to be flipped.

They should be looking for guys on the rookie deals + the single team draft pick warchest. But they shouldn't trade him at all.

I think that proposed Simmons trade is working with this season's numbers, and the deadline is passed of course. Dame's supermax kicks in next season, so deals will be near impossible to make. That's a good thing IMHO.

I'm sure Olshey would be all for it. He could trade away Dame and that would leave CJ with 30 shots a game

If he went to the Lakers, I would probably stop following basketball altogether.

Ridiculous statement. Embiid has proven he can not stay healthy. Lillard would have another nurkic delma never available

If it brought him back to his form at the beginning of the year, I wouldn't mind.

    Huh.

Good thing because it means Dame's stuck with us?

I personally don't want any player who doesn't want to be here to be here...simple. If Dame wants a trade, he gets a trade. I also don't believe any of this is going to happen...Dame is a career Blazer in my view.

I forgot to say I would also ask for a couple of first rounders in that deal. I honestly don't know if Morey would go for it. If he thought Dame would bring a championship, then no question. But I think he understands Simmons' value more than most.

But if you're suggesting we trade Dame to Houston or OKC because they've got a bazillion picks, then SHAME ON YOU. I would not do that to Dame! (Unless they're also landing Kawhi or something. Which I guess could happen.)
