Why Kidd? He failed in his 2 opportunities, makes little sense to me.

Because he's a "name" and it might convince Jody Allen not to fire Olshey?

Jeezus Nate, we actually agree on something. But if they are actually stupid enough to hire that thug, then this is a case of “careful what you wish for” when it comes to moving on from Stotts. I wasn’t a huge Stotts fan (and thought he instigated last night’s meltdown by not trusting Nurk) but also firmly believe there are far more worse coaches than Stotts then there are better ones. Whoever we might get, it’s still going to be a crap shoot. All I know for sure is that Kidd is a godawful choice for the Blazers…..or any other team. And if they actually hired him I’d have to give serious thought to moving on from professional basketball. It’s already rigged against the small market teams as it is. Jason Kidd would be the final nail…….

Nobody wished to move on from Stotts to Jason Kidd. A number of people have tossed out a number of suggestions and I can't remember one including Jason Kidd.

I don't think Kidd would be worse, it'd hard to be worse than Stotts schematically and we need a change of voice, but my goodness... This is not who we wanted Stotts gone for. I would lose would little faith I have left in the organization.

The only retread you haven't mentioned that I wouldn't be pissed at would be Mike Brown.

I'm confused. Would you be pissed at Spoelstra and Pop?

Billups has been an assistant with Lue in LA this year.

Maybe I'll get killed for this comment but Jason Kidd did a really good job in New Jersey and then pulled an asshole move and left them when they wanted him to stay because Milwaukee gave him personnel control. He didn't fuck up the roster that the Bucks now have and he had inconsistency with an extremely young team while he coached Milwaukee. He's not a bad pick for the job. He has had some character issues that if you take issue with I don't really have an argument for.

As a coach he was fiery and stressed defense. He has championship experience as a player and as an assistant. I also don't think that it hurts that he is a point guard from Oakland. If we end up with Kidd, I'll be just fine with it.

    Probably best case scenario.

It's like the draft. He's not a bad pick, but there are others who are available and better.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'd take Chauncey and Johnnie Bryant before Kidd and that's just who I'm into... I'm sure there are coaches that aren't on my radar that may be better than Kidd too. That being said, it is like the draft... we don't know which coach would be best for us for sure. My point was that signing Kidd wouldn't be a disaster in my opinion.
