This season, as the defense continued to be a problem and Stotts struggled to find a fluid rotation, he struggled to reach his players. Behind the scenes, there were growing concerns about his ability to make in-game adjustments, a fact illustrated in April in Los Angeles when the Blazers played at the Clippers.

According to two sources, Lillard was taunted throughout the game by a Clippers player, who mocked that the Blazers didn’t have a coach who could adjust to the Clippers’ trapping defense on Lillard. The Blazers were stifled 133-116 in that game while Lillard was held to 11 points on 2-of-14 shooting.

Olshey and Billups have a history, I don’t think Kidd and Olshey do.

    Hire Billups then fire olshey

So management seems to want Billups, and Dame likes Billups even if he prefers Kidd. I think this one is obvious.

The comment from Lillard saying he would like the new coach to have “experience” seems to definitely insinuate he wants Kidd over Billups, even if he likes both.

The comment saying he would pick Kidd does also lol.

I remember that Kidd's first game back after the arrest was here in Portland with the Suns. I was there. EVERY single time he had the ball in his hands--for the entire time he had it in his hands, for the entire game--the crowd booed at the top of their lungs.

That kind of complete effort from start to finish was magnificent.

I was just going to write this. I’m a Bay Area guy and played HS basketball around the same time Kidd was at St Joe’s, Payton was through the system and Oregon state, Brian Shaw, etc, those guys are incredibly tight. A true brotherhood.

I would rather hire Billups over Kidd but you gotta go with whatever makes Dame happy I suppose. He probably values that Oakland connection.

Yeah that was over 20 years ago and somehow he has found jobs that vetted him and found him fit to among other things be a head coach/GM. I'm not saying that domestic violence is in any way acceptable but what is the sentence for it?

I was just commenting on how amazing it was to see one player booed for 20-25 minutes of game time. Lots of unforgettable games from this team, and that was one of them.

And that's not why I don't want Kidd. I don't want him because I don't think he's very good. With this unbalanced roster, it's going to take a supremely good Xs and Os coach.

Yeah, Bishop Odowd is the best basketball school in Northern California. I watched Kidd play his senior year when I was an eighth grader. Best high school player I've ever seen and crazy enough he dunked like ten times.
