Portland's 2017 draft was a major fuckup. And the guy who fucked up is still in charge

our team would be so much better if Collins, bam, or Mitchell was drafted instead

Nate helped out by calling to intentionally foul Simmons twice in the last minute.

Clips lost every game this series when wearing their black jerseys. Won every one with their white jerseys. Sure, let's wear the black ones. We'll get them THIS TIME.

Hardaway Jr. would be a good side kick to Dame.

Smart move by Nate. Philly was down 6 with 38 seconds to go. They needed 3s and Simmons went 1-2 from the line......twice. (3-10 for the game)

    2012:

    11 Meyers Leonard
    35 Draymond Green
    39 Khris Middleton

    2013:

    10 CJ McCollum
    15 Giannis Antetokounmpo

    27 DEN Rudy Gobert
    31 CLE Allen Crabbe
    39 POR Jeff Withey
    40 POR Grant Jerrett
    45 POR Marko Todorović
    46 UTA Erick Green

(a little complicated but while Portland was maneuvering to draft Crabbe, trading two future 2nds for him, Utah traded the 46th pick (Green) + Cash for Gobert; Portland had three 2nd's better than the pick Utah got Gobert with)

    2016:

    19 Malik Beasley
    20 Caris LeVert
    27 Pascal Siakam
    36 Malcolm Brogdon

(the 19th pick, Beasley, was the pick Portland traded for Afflalo)

    2017:

    10 Zach Collins
    13 Donovan Mitchell
    14 Bam Adebayo

    19 John Collins
    22 Jarrett Allen
    23 OG Anunoby

    26 Caleb Swanigan
    29 Derrick White
    42 Thomas Bryant
    45 Dillon Brooks

    2018:

    24 Anfernee Simons
    27 Robert Williams
    33 Jalen Brunson
    34 Devonte' Graham
    36 Mitchell Robinson

now, the point isn't my usual Olshey-bashing (maybe a little) because even good GM's will occasionally whiff in the draft, especially as you get toward the later picks. But the great GM's don't whiff often, and don't whiff on elite players often at all

Portland has missed opportunities to add Draymond Green, Khris Middleton, Giannis, Gobert, Pascal Siakam, Malcolm Brogdon, Donovan Mitchell, & Bam Adebayo. Two MVP's, 3 DPOY's, and 15 all-star games in that list

they have also missed chances to add Caris LeVert, John Collins, OG Anunoby, Derrick White, Thomas Bryant, and Dillon Brooks

which makes it more frustrating that right now Portland seems at risk of alienating the best player the franchise has ever had because they don't have anybody as good as several they've whiffed on. NBA teams don't get too many chances to pair elite players. Portland has had several over the last 9 years and missed every time. That doesn't even take into account all the wasted cap-space on stupid max contract offers, or Portland sitting on the sidelines while players like PG13, Jimmy Butler, Kawhi, and Harden were traded, a couple of them traded more than once

Portland's current situation is not a result of a lack of opportunities, but rather a lack of vision. OK yeah, sorry, went after the soap star again...couldn't help myself

Jody Allen didn't order Olshey to draft Zach Collins
