I was thinking how great it would be if you had a press pass and could ask condescending egomaniac Neil Oilslick questions during his news conferences. It would be epic.
It's kind of like my writing career.... very obscure.... no proof still exists that I was ever a real person.
I read from several sports journalist this season that after covid restrictions they may not return to old ways when it comes to media access....they are cutting costs and teams are streamlining their overhead....I heard they love that they don't have to lodge feed or transport media members on the road like they used to....zoom is here to stay...radio broadcasters will probably not travel either but stream from Portland for every game....league lost a bundle in revenue last season
It's free to stream things over facebook and that is exactly how the Blazers have done it in year's past. Here are two examples of that.
I understand zoom is free but if there's no media access Casey and Brooke probably don't get paid that day right?
Dame has come in front of the media and answered every question thoughtfully after tough performances throughout his career. Dude was still out there for 10+ mins after Game 6 with tears in his eyes after he gave his all for the city/franchise. There have been no filters, no gripes, no complaints about the media. Even in instances when he's been unfairly maligned, he's come out and given it right back to the media. You'd think Neil would use that as an example and face the public. If he's scared in front of this cupcake media crew in Portland, what would he do in a larger market? Speaking of which, nearly every GM/PoBO in the league has had multiple media sessions/radio/tv interviews through the season, and Olshey hasn't had a single live Q&A interview since Dec 2020. Even after the trade deadline, it was a doctored interview session that was recorded on paper. "coward" is correct. I actually was behind quite a few of his moves this past season, but this shit is unforgiveable, especially in market like ours where fans are so passionate and crave these soundbytes.
And I'm pretty sure Casey is a salaried employee. I have no idea if Brooke is a Blazer employee or a Blazer Broadcasting employee. @THE HCP any info on this?
Except she's free to do other endorsement work. She is a spokesperson for Lillard Toyota. I don't think Blazer employees can endorse outside products but broadcasters can.
