I have no problem with him sitting out the first two months of the season to do something truly special in playing the Olympics.

Yeah, I'd love Dame to get a gold medal, he deserves it. It would also be great to see him take over some of these games. I doubt there will be a lot of chances for Dame time but a guarantee there will be some chances to practice in game half court shots.

Yes, let him go win an Olympic title.

Also, can you imagine that Curry/Lillard starting back court? Dropping bombs from halfcourt? Omg.

Return Olympic Basketball to College Players. Then if they suck, maybe they will work harder on their games, and stay in school. Olympic Basketball has become a glorified All Star Game.

He took the vaccine, so we know in 16 months his arm will actually fall off of his body, so he might as well use it now.

If Lillard wants to play, he should play.

Like others have said, if he's able to do a little recruiting in the process, that would just be a bonus. Of course, he's going to get recruited too...

Why not? He’ll have plenty of rest since he lost in the 1st round

Lillard should absolutely play for the gold and represent team USA and the Blazers in Japan....that's where he can lobby for team USA players to come to Portland..

He had a short regular season and only 6 playoff games...he's not in much danger of injury at this point...his miles are way down from previous seasons..playing with a defensive coach in the Olympics will be better than pickup games in the states in the off season to work on his game...he could get injured boxing here at a gym but it's what he'll do no matter what. He's a gym rat

Sure, would be interested to see how Pops coaches him, and a gold medal isn't bad fodder for his legacy.

Yes. Basketball is best when Dame is involved.

we have no idea if good or bad will result (injuries or recruiting) but it’s worth it to see Dame on the international stage. It should be some compelling bball.

Thibs and McMillan were the defensive coordinators for team USA...not sure if they still are but I think it's like a superstar preseason training camp to work out with the best in the world coaching and player wise and also to face unfamiliar players from foreign teams

Ha! Ya, Olympic Broadcasting is definitely working on a different budget than the NBA. This will be my 5th Olympics..... we usually stay in brand new hotels or apartments, clean and new, but not very fancy.

I think in Japan they'll put you in those claustrophobic tubes that are like lockers at the train station...you'll adapt but go outside if you need to fart!

I'm all for him playing for Team USA - but if it came at the price of him not playing the first two months of the season, that'd be an insane take as the playoffs would be a non-starter missing him for two months.

Good for dame. He should play if he wants to. Winning an Olympic medal is a once in a lifetime thing that shouldn’t be taken away because the fans or the team is selfish.
