Yeah, good luck finding a deal for one with CJ as the centerpiece. More likely CJ himself turns into that star than that happening I think, hence me trying to move him for better balance. Another idea: MEM gets: CJ POR gets: Kyle Anderson Justise Winslow Tyus Jones
https://clutchpoints-com.cdn.amppro...e-a-worthwhile-gamble-for-mavs-trail-blazers/ CJ McCollum, Kristaps Porzingis trade a worthwhile gamble for Mavericks, Trail Blazers
I don't hate the unicorn but he's not playing PF next to Nurk at C. So if we swung that deal I would want Nurk traded. I would even throw in a future first if needed.
The most valuable asset in this deal is the guy being paid 4 million. Also, Burke has a 3 year deal? What the fuck.
Something like this needs to happen Resign Powell Trade CJ + Nurk +a pick for Towns+Beasley Let Melo Walk. Let Kanter Walk. Let DJJ walk. Resign Collins, Sign Kelly Olynyk, Sign TJ McConnell, Sign Torey Craig Resign Giles PG Dame / McConnell SG Powell /ANT / Elleby SF Beasely/Little /Craig PF Covington/ Collins C KAT /Olynyk/Giles
its just hollinger spouting crap again. can't take him too seriously, especially with matters related to portland. this is the guy who said Gobert should be MVP and Dame wasn't even top 10.
Playing with the worst case scenario of Dame asking out(I know, I know, I don't expect it, but What If and it's a slow work day): http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y32sd4uc
The player id love to see here is Ben Simmons. Elite defender and great floor vision. It would also allow Dame and resigned Powell have open jumpers with his ability to get into the paint and kick
I think what we need is for Philly and Milwaukee to flame out. Giannis and Embiid aren't moving but Simmons and Middleton might be available. Simmons has been my dream pairing for Dame for years, and Middleton is a taller/better defending CJ who is a better fit with Dame than CJ is. Something like this, with more picks going from POR to Philly. We'd also need to bring back Powell and Collins and get into luxury tax hell. But that's the only way to get a true championship roster around Dame. Charlotte also undoes an overpay for Hayward while getting a starting quality center who can flourish with Lamelo (also a Rich Paul client). Dame (40 mil) Powell (20 mil) Hayward (30 mil) Simmons (30 mil) Collins (5 mil) Then Simons/Little/Jones off the bench and use whatever else exception to fill out the roster. Jody would be paying out the nose, but there is no way Dame would leave that roster. And we'd have two all NBA players and three borderline all stars with a terrific ancillary piece in Powell. AND a good young core that could pop in Simons/Zach/Little/Jones. Given the Simmons/Hayward health histories, it's a risk, but one worth taking imo.
