The big four pro leagues are a status symbol. MLS isn't even close to being the best soccer league in the world. I can't say that I know much about hockey. Is there a better league than the NHL?

It's 2021 and the Trail Blazers choose a broadcast partner that has zero streaming options available? Just an incredible way to alienate your fan base, especially those young (and middle-aged) fans who cut the cord years ago. What an archaic decision.

I don’t know any details, but aren’t the Blazers acquiring more fans through the addition of satellite customers than losing streaming only customers?

They may be acquiring more fans at this current moment, but it's an incredibly short-term gain. Instead of focusing on building that bond with a younger generation of potential fans, those familiar with streaming services, the Blazers added a lot of older fans. I'm in my mid-30s and I feel like a lot of my generation and the generation after me has already cut the cord and has no desire to go back.

Streaming is the current and future means for consuming content. The Trail Blazers failure to grasp and understand that doesn't surprise me one bit.

This decision feels a lot like your favorite sport, baseball. Keeping and enforcing these "unwritten rules" appeases the older generation but by not embracing showmanship or finding ways to speed up the game, the amount of younger fans interested in the game will continue to dwindle.

Dude! Go read the OregonLive article and you'll see that they are working on a streaming option instead of blindly complaining. They arent cutting streaming and just moving on without it.

The fact that it needed to be said makes me more hesitant on the partnership.

That's awesome because I'll be able to mute Jordan Kent and listen to Travis and Michael on the radio without the time delay

It's hard to believe that in 2021, streaming isn't even a clear option right now for everyone.

There'll still likely be that 2 second delay. I believe this just means they won't start an hour late because of other contracted shows, or the ending of a mariners game or something.

I watch via league pass, so this doesn’t affect me at all, but if someone wants me to send a harshly worded email, I’m here for you.

Kinda like cell phones and ISPs going away from unlimited service.... just flat out stupid and archaic.
