Scary article today. Lots of terrible ideas like Herro and Precious for Dame. Here’s the possible Knicks trade. I’d give up on Blazers if this happened: Barrett, Obi Toppin, Kevin Knox, the two firsts in 2021, the Knicks’ 2023 first, their 2025 first and pick swaps in 2024 and 2026? There will never be another Lillard in Portland. Cannot trade him.
I don't love the players involved, but that's a pretty good haul of picks ... and it's the Knicks, so even with Dame, they're bound to screw things up and those will end up being good draft slots.
RJ is Martell Webster with a green light. Miami is easily the most intriguing with Bam. NY/LA teams can kick rocks.
The only way Dame gets traded is if he asks for trade. Would you be mad if Dame asks for a trade? It would be cool if there was a pole on this thread asking the question.
I am a Dame Dolla fan but as a business man, that's a helluva hall for a player that is gonna be 31 in his next year. I wouldn't do it as a Blazer fan but as a GM i may consider it IF Dame wants it.
From Portland's perspective; this year, NO! Next year, assuming Olshey doesn't make a move that brings in a legitimate All-Star level player this summer, then abso-freaking-lutely you trade Dame for the biggest haul possible. This franchise has a long history of hanging onto impact players too long and getting squat for them. If Olshey is a bust this summer and I were in a position to influence Jody Allen's thought process, I'd say fire Olshey before the end of the season, bring in the best GM candidate you can find to engineer a rebuild, and get as much for Dame and other vets as possible. Sam Presti has done this several times and has managed to keep podunk OKC a player as a result. The Blazers need to learn from his example. Man I hope Olshey pulls a rabbit out of his hat, or whatever orifice works, this summer. I'd rather give up a kidney than lose Dame.
If Dame were to be traded, I wouldn't watch basketball any more. I'd probably burn all of my recent Blazer stuff not including Dame stuff.
I don't know if I would watch more Knicks games, but I would definitely check the box score every game to see how many points we're missing out on.
If Dame decided to move on, I would hope he sets his feet in Philly. He would be appreciated for sure. If Seth is there, that would be a great set up for the Sixers.
